another game i want to say that creeps me out is tomb raider series for ps1
the dinosaurs creeped me out and so did the animals when they pop out of nowhere along with all the surprise attacks from spikes aligators, bears, wolves, bats, walls closing in on you, monkeys lions coming after you etc freaky looking bosses

fear 2
condemned 1,2
the suffering 1,2
left 4 dead (the witch is creepy when you can hear her crying)
hunter reckoning 1,2
manhunt
area 51 for ps1

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem for the GameCube was awesome. Very Lovecraftian.

The best part was the sanity meter. Every time you encountered something supernatural the meter would go up, and if it got too high, really strange s**t would happen.

Great list of games!! It's awesome you named some classic ones like Zombies Ate My Neighbors, and even some of the lesser known kinds like The Ring (I'm guessing the one for Dreamcast).

The Dreamcast had some other survival horrors... D2, Carrier, Blue Stinger, forget what else at the moment.

Something I didn't see listed there that I highly-highly-highly recommend is Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines for PC ... it's got RPG elements to it, and it's just a seriously amazing experience. You get to play as a vampire, and some of the levels, like the hotel, are really frightening. I'd say it's a bit underrated and maybe up there with my alltime faves ^_^
