Okay, first of all, wrong forum. Second of all, what genre is it in? I'm too lazy to look it up right now. I'll move this once someone tells me.

It sounds kind of sci-fi, so I'm moving it to the Fantasy subforum. I haven't read it (obviously), but it sounds alright. I might add it to my list, but it won't be at the top.

They're really really good books! And I guess they'd be considered sci-fi. There's two so far (Catching Fire is the second) and the third is coming out in August. They're extremely gripping--I couldn't put either one down, even when going up and down staircases. Which says a lot, considering that I'm one of the world's top ten klutzes. I highly recommend them, if you like fantasy/scifi and action. Here, I'll copy the description of the first one:
Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When Katniss' sister is chosen by lottery, she steps up to go in her place.
I'm not sure how much I like that description, but it's pretty accurate. It just doesn't quite convey the intensity of the book. And it says nothing about the romance aspect, or all the political intrigue stuff, or *bites tongue to prevent spoilers*. Ah well...
One small warning--they both end on terrible cliffhangers. But if you start them soon you won't have too long to wait for the third, and I think it's worth reading them even if it's torture waiting for the last to come out.

The Hunger Games is an awesome book. Like Firebird said, you can't put them down. I hear from my classmates that Catching Fire isn't very good, but I haven't read it yet. It's checked out at the library... =

So I honestly haven't read this series yet, but I know that Mockingjay just came out (I've seen it every where and everyone reading it)
What did you guys think? Worth putting aside homework for?
