Mike Chiplin Leaves The Band Yes, it's true.
Here's what it says on the boys' myspace -
"Some of you may know, others may not, but Mike C has left Lostprophets. A press release was issued friday and word should be spreading now. Nothing to stress over though, the split was friendly and cool. We were heading one way and he wanted to go try some other things. Like i have said on the forums, we are on our way to bat country, and he really wants to check out kangaroo island. Title says it all really. Split was fine, all good. We are friends before bandmates and nothing will ever change that. He just wanted to try out some different stuff etc. Everyone was cool about it. Also it will give everyone a nice scapegoat when the next album comes out and it isnt what they want it to be.
Cue shouts of "since mike left they went s**t" etc. It will fit nicely in with
1. "since they remixed fsop they went s**t"
2. "since jamie gave up turntables they went s**t"
3 " since they released SS they went s**t"
We have all grown up together so our understanding is deeper than the band. We are friends before bandmates. Anyway, here's the official release:
"Lostprophets regret to announce the departure of drummer and founding member Mike Chiplin from the band.
As the lads have all grown up together, the departure is an amicable one with Mike leaving to pursue other musical opportunities."
The group are currently writing the follow up to their 'Start Something' LP and plan to begin recording their new album shortly which will be released early 2006."

I wish Mike the best of luck in whatever he decides to do in the future!

New Single!Out on: 22nd November 2004
The track will be: Goodbye Tonight?
It will be released on: x 2 CDs and 7" vinyl
CD1 will have the title track plus a remix of Burn Burn.
CD2 will have the title track plus remixes of Last Train Home and Wake Up (Make A Move) + the video for Goodbye Tonight (which was shot in Seattle on 7th October 04 during the band's current US tour. The vinyl 7" has Goodbye Tonight on one side, and an etching of the bands logo and phoenix on the b side. It will be limited to 2500 copies.This is merely a chopped down version of what the official site had to say.
Their tour in the US has gone really well and their dates for the winter in the UK have almost sold out. Must say a big CONGRATULATIONS to the boys.

Headlining K!Day of rock (Taken from official site)
We're headlining the K! Day of Rock on 24th August at Virgin Megastore on Oxford St., London - if you want to come along you'll need a special wristband - And this is how you get one....
Get up mega early on 21st August & queue up outside Virgin Megastore (nearest tube is Tottenham Court Road) - the store opens at 9am and it's first come first served .... we know it's a pain, but it's the only way of making sure you hardcore fans get in!!
