this is just my opinion, but i dont believe cexcells is about sex. before posting something, read the rest; i have actual reasons for thinking this.

i believe that cexcells is actually sex sells. everyone knows that there are a ton of bands out there that have 90% their songs about sex, or have some kind of sexual reference in them (aka bloodhound gang, fall out boy's infinity on high, breathe carolina...). i think they're trying to make a point. i think theyre trying to say, "hey, look, look at what everyone's doing to make their music sell. isnt it kind of ridiculous?" i think theyre making fun of it by being a part of it and overdramatizing it. doesnt that sound like something that theyd do versus stating the obvious?

so first off. the lyrics.
AFI's lyrics are usually abstract ideas made into song form. so why would this be any different? why would davey and jade randomly start writing in a different style just for blaqk audio? usually, AFI's songs sound like one thing but mean another entirely different thing. so im thinking its the same. im thinking that on the surface a lot of blaqk audio's songs sound like they're about sex, but really theyre about something deeper.
the only song that i can NOT find another meaning in is girls and boys. and the reasoning behind having songs that sound like theyre about sex is to lure people into buying their cd. sex sells. theyre proving a point.

next. the cover art.
i think they were trying to be really vulgar and in your face about it so they could prove their point more. and they did. a ton of people in my area bought the cd just because of the cover art. and that really proves their point even more. it proves that sexual refrences even on the cover of a cd make it sell.

the title.
cexcells. you think of it as "sex cells" in this form, but when you change the c's to s's, it makes more sense. it turns into "sex sells" which are both actual words. i think this is the biggest clue. and this is one of those puzzle-y things that i think davey and jade would do. after hearing about the 336/7 theory.

i cant think of anything else D=
but i know theres more.

like i said, this is just my opinion. im sorry if i offended anyone or if this has already been posted (i dont think it has). i also apologize for my poor persuasive writing. its probably really hard to follow. if you actually have a legitimate reason against my reasoning, id like to hear it. i want to hear what anyone has to say about it.

actually there is proof from interviews that those experiences were really accounted for by davey
and that they were searching for a different type of sound and feel that they would not be able to do with AFI; it's like their music home away from home

i don't think most of that is accurate; AFI has been doing the same type of lyricism for a long time, and im sure davey thought the input of that kind of message in AFI would be inappropriate, thus blaqk audio. plus the music does fit the lyrics.
also i hope you remind yourself that they are humans and they are old enough to write about sexual experiences

did he say what the experiences were, or did he just say that they were real experiences? i actually want to know, because more than likely im going to be proved wrong anyways.

and yes, i do realize that they are old enough to write about that, i just find it really strange that all of a sudden they are. to me, this seems more realistic. i dont feel like theyre ever going to just come out and say what they want to say.

no he didn't say because he doesnt want to just tell people everything, it's his sex life. would you want that everywhere?

you were pointing out that their music style and lyrics were for satirical purposes, not what i was saying

i guess davey is introverted
