The grounds are rocky and barren. There are hundreds of targets spread out through the area, some set on tall platforms for variations in height. At the opposite end of target range, there is equipment that fires plastic plates into the air so that shinigami can practice on moving targets. Watch out for the gusts of wind that flow through the grounds at times.
