I don't think there is really any reason to change the way you look surgically, unless there is just something completely wrong like.... a third or fourth arm some where...
eh... kids are kids are kids... in other words... people say hurtful things because they can and because they like to see reactions from other people. I like the line from princess diaries where Mia talks about being a freak

as for being paranoid... who cares what other people think.. especially if they are strangers. people you know and have to deal with on an every day basis... just remember... they have to pick the lint from between their toes every night as well. they also have bad breath in the morning, have to put on pants one leg at a time, and they even have to poop most days.
