In my opinion do not even try to get her to say the salvation prayer because for me it never works. I don't believe in that and it's no where in the bible. I would try to use a biblical aproach. Use the 10 Commandments to show her the sins that she has commited. An example would be like this: "Do you think you're a good person? (they almost always say yes) Have you ever lied? What does that make you?" and ect. Then ask: "So if God judges you by the 10 Commandments, would you be innocent or guilty? Would you go to heaven or hell?" Then tell her about why Jesus died for her and how to be saved. By
repenting and
trusting in Jesus Christ. (not just by asking Jesus into your heart) That's about all you can do except for praying. Sorry if I sound a bit harsh on the 'salvaion prayer' but I just can't stand modern evangelism techniques. That prayer was, I think, starting to be used in the 50's. No where in the bible does it say to accept Jesus into your heart and reduce the gospel down to 4 spiritual laws. That's just asking for trouble. I know some of you may not agree but that's what I think. Oh by that way that biblical technique is called The Way of the Master. I find it very helpful when witnessing to any type of person.
I LOVE the Way of the Master technique! I use it at work! :]
@Tanis: I have a friend who is agnostic. He believes that there's some kind of higher power, but he just doesn't understand it. I haven't pushed anything on him, I let him come to me if he has questions (which he has). We've talked for like 3 hours once on the subject, and it was friendly. He was just asking me questions, wanting to know and understand.
Someone once told me the best way to preach the gospel is to treat everyone as though they're already a Christian. Show them love, tell them what God is doing in your life, etc. That's a very good approach as well, especially if you don't want to come off as if you're preaching to her.
