If you want to go to the Masquerade, you will have to wait in a long line... Last year the masq filled to capacity...

Make sure you pace yourself. And make sure to drink plenty of liquids. Walking around AB gets tiring and you get thirsty quick. Other than that have a good time.

Be mindful of your suroundings, it's not uncommen to be blind-sided by someone's oversized costume or props by accident. And if you're into games, bringign your own controller is always a good idea because there usualy aren't enough to go around.

1]For the sweet love of god bring bottled water and some form of sustenance. I went last year and all I had was a bowl of cornflakes half a granola bar and some peanut butter spread over the course of three days And take a multi-vitamin before hand if you can. And get real energy drinks, monster dose not count, the sugar rush will only get you through the rave at best, and most people go for the whole day not just the night escapades.
2]Be prepared for your cash funds to take a heavy blow, so much shiny merchandise and arts to buy. @.@
3] If cosplaying bring a mini emergency kit with anything you'd needed for a quick mend if your costume should get damaged.
4] If you plan on staying for the long haul bring one of those mini tooth brush kits and a fresh pair of socks. You'll be walking a lot and you have know idea how much your feet will thank you for it. Also after a good eighteen hours of conventioning you will feel insanely refreshed and energized by the simple act. [It may seem like more of a travel thing but trust me it applies.
5]Keep a cell phone and emergency cash, [for transit if you commute or if you get really, really hungry.] But be sure to hide it in a place where absolutely no one but you can find it. Like for say a pocket that's on the inside of your shirt instead of on your pants. In my experience conventioneers are some of the nicest and most honest people you can met, I got really lucky and was practically surrounded by angels the whole time. However my friend was not so luck and ended up hanging with some wack-a-doo klepto. [I don't mean to scare you but you never know.]
[For the same reason it would be a good idea to keep a small combo lock on your backpack. Not key because keys are easily lost. You don't want to end up going "Hey can you help me break into my bag and fish out my wallet?" and risk looking like a crook. ]
6] Bring hand sanitizer, you never know whose touched what your touching. A warm body count means thousands of people and you never know who's got what. No one wants to get sick at a con. [And tissues wouldn't hurt either.
7]Body spray, and deodorant. The joke is always shower at a con but after ten hours it wont make much of a difference and it always rocks to be the best smelling person in line when you go to shake that voice actors hand. [And your girlie wont mind it either. wink ]
8]A mini first aid kit. If your as clumsy as me you never know what will happen. You could suffer a serious booboo via manga paper cut and not mangaka or donjinshi makers appreciate having their work bled on.
9]Go on the host centers site and study the map of the area, because even with a map in hand and prior experience you will get lost. And studying the general area doesn't hurt either for transportation and to see what convince stores are around. [All food and drink at con's are generally over priced.
10]If lines are so big they wrap around the entire center twice. :cough:pillows concert:cough: unless it's what you souly came there for ignore it. Find something else to do. When we were told that a certain venue was full while my mates wasted hours sulking I wandered off in search of other entertainment, I was randomly ushered into a hall way by a crowed and ended up in the concert hall with a boss view from the balcony! So have a good time and don't sweat the small stuff.
Wow, I sound like I'm preparing you for war. xD But I went in clean last year and had no idea what I was in for as my previous con experiences only lasted sadly four hours or so at best. But three days some 6am to 2am the next can take alot. [Though I still felt peped and shiny again for some reason, maybe it was the fandom feeding me.]
I may seem like alot but really it's nothing you cant fit into a small backpack. And you could end up helping someone out and totaly saving there lives, I have with more than just a few of these items after I wised up the second day. <3

Okay, pretty much Sarena128 summed it up for us. But there a few things that maybe I should reiterate.
DEODORANT. My best friend forgot hers and as day two was beginning I ran to the store and bought her some. People sometimes forget that standing in a crowd of 10,000+ people makes you perspire more and sometimes their smell rubs off on you. Also, people around you do not want to smell you. It's bad enough that they have to smell themselves. >D
WATER. My second year, I drank like two sips of water on the first day and wound up with severe heat stroke. I puked and ruined the convention for myself because I spent the rest of the time trying to feel better. And, standing in a crowd on 10,000+ people makes you dehydrate faster.
BE PREPARED....for lots of people. There will be lots of people. 10,000+ people. LOTS OF PEOPLE. I do not exaggerate.
PLAN AHEAD. Try and keep an eye on the event list on the website. There will be something that are not listed, but make sure you note what you are interested in and what you might want to do. Also, create a list of time fillers. Then, when you get to AB, look at the schedule they give you, and if you are going with friends, look it over and highlight what you are going to do. Give yourself time. Say there is a meeting with an actor at 2 and there is something you want to do, like, an interview with Kalafina, you might have to decide what you want more.
PRE-REGISTER. Last year, the waiting line to register there was 13 hours. If you like waiting in lines, then go for it. But, if you don't then pre-reg. Just go to the website and register. I spent 45 mins. in pre-reg. line and then got to roam free. Better than 13 hours.
Yep, that's about all I have to say. ^_^ If you have any questions or want to know some funny stories, PM me or e-mail me @ Jamoldred@yahoo.com .

I know pretty much all of these have been said already, but I'll repeat them for enthesis
1. Drink plenty of water. Bring a bottle with you and try to refill it when you can
2. Bring some snacks with you if case you don't get a chance to make it to the food court. That way you won't have to starve. (and I suggest to bring extra snacks with you...my friends ended up mooching food off of me throughout the con)
3. Try to wear comfortable shoes if possible, or bring an extra pair with you to change into
4. SHOWER! Things at Anime Boston can get busy so many people don't have time...please MAKE time for this. And use deodorant...everyone will thank you
5. Try to hide any money for the food court somewhere (like you shoe or something) so you don't spend it by accident (my cousin did this last year on my first con -_-)
6. Bring a cell phone and if you're with a group make sure everyone has each others number!
7. Before buying anything in the dealers room or artists alley try to look around at everything else before you actually buy something, that way you can be sure you won't regret buying something
8. Try to plan ahead and figure out what panels and such you want to go too.
9. If you're going to the masquerade try to get there early. The line gets long, and you won't to try to get a somewhat decent seat.
10. Bring something to write down contact info if case you make any good friends.
11. Bring a camera! This is something you'll want memories for!
12. Bring extra batteries/film/memory cards for said camera. Trust me, you'll probably need them
13. Be mentally prepared for the most random, and crazy, but totally epic three days of your life.
14. Have fun and make friends!
