All dragons possess some magic although most dragons only learn to master the basic spells. Some dragons can wield more advanced magic, but they will only ever possess one ability. Advanced magic is passed on from one generation to the next, with the exception of latent magic. Dragons that possess latent magic have the potential to do advanced magic, but have yet to do so. The ability is buried deep within, and must be unlocked through either extensive study and training or a deeply traumatic event that changes the way they view the world. Even once the advanced magic is unlocked, the dragons will never be as strong as dragons that have the ability naturally, they will tire faster, and they will be 50% less likely to pass it on to their children. The only advantage dragons will latent magic possess over dragons are born with full-strength magic is the increased control that comes from all of the time spent studying. As always, Guardians are the exception to the rule and can master two forms of advanced magic. To read more about basic magic and the advanced magic skills that can be unlocked, go here. Rules 1) Each dragon may only learn one advanced magic ability, unless they are a Guardian. Guardians may learn two. 2) All RPs must be 1,000+ words long. 3) We reserve the right to turn down applications to help preserve rarity. Ghost Speech in particular will be closely monitored. 4) Common abilities require one complete RP, uncommon abilities require two complete RPs, rare abilities require three complete RPs, and new abilities require four complete RPs. Breeding RPs may be used to obtain magic, but each RP can only be used to get magic once. There is more info on reusing RPs here.

How it Works Once you have the required number of RPs, post the form below. We will check this thread for entries on a regular basis and either accept or reject entries. If accepted, you must post a complete RP (1,000+ words) where your dragon uses their magic for the first time and comes to terms with their ability. Once you have completed the RP, post the second form. Until this final RP is finished and posted here, you may not RP your dragon using their new skill and they will not pass on the magic to their kids.Note: If you would like to suggest a new magical ability, please PM the mule so that we can discuss things and work out the details. Dragon Name: Ithnan
Species: Mountain
Personality: Ithnan tends to be withdrawn as far as his personality is concerned. He follows the law he was raised to follow, 'never speak unless spoken to'. As such, he doesn't talk a whole lot. He was friendly to a point until his King met Aquamarine, at which point slight bitterness started brewing up. The final straw as far as his kindness goes was when Syoto more-or-less demanded that he give up the only son he was allowed to raise. From that point, his affections for his King have definitely fallen short of what they were previously, though he's assured himself that he'll never say a word about his initial feelings, nor his current ones. He also has a speech impediment that causes constant stammering.
History: Ithnan's been Syoto's b***h for- Ithnan was hatched by Cartography's pack and believed the first thing that he heard: That Syoto was the King of the Dragons, and if he wasn't already, he was going to be. Upon being considered a servant, he's served that role constantly for his entire life. He hunts for Syoto and secretly pines for him, though the bonds between them have grown tense since the stealing of Naiosalas' egg accompanied with the appearances of both Aquamarine and Tasslehoff. His son has recently grown up and started a life of his own with Siddhartha, one of Syoto's two children. Ithnan continues, as always, to humbly serve his King.
