So I have a problem. Last year I was the only piccolo that played in my band. There was another one and I was looking forward to trading off with him and exchanging tips and stuff because he was a great kid. Well he became a druggie and quit band (big mistake). So now I'm the only piccolo (which I enjoy), but I'm playing 5 pieces consecutively in our upcoming concert and my lip gets tired after the first 3. Does anyone have any excercises for lip strengthening? My plans as of now are locking myself in my room for a couple hours and doing octave jumps. Help!

try long tones for long periods of time. I know, its boring!!!!! But it will help you in the long run for having a better endurance. Thats what I have to do on oboe so we're pretty much going through the same thing (only im playing oboe and you're playing picc) but yeah, I had to do that with piccolo too.
