Name: Dr. John Martin

General Appearance: Somewhat portly in appearance, although not obese. Whenever seen around the company grounds, he is perpetually wearing a pair of black pants, generally a white shirt with a tie, and a lab coat. He wears glasses that sit somewhat low on his nose. Dr. Martin is almost perpetually smiling, although it usually comes across as more of a neutral look than anything else.

Personality: Dr. Martin is almost the perfect example of an absent-minded professor. He tends to be entirely focused on his work and studies, and will very often ignore most everything else. It is not uncommon for him to forget meetings, appointments, and even meals. Unless, of course, these relate directly to whatever his primary project is, and its continued (or starting) survival. He is not very observant of social matters, and will miss what other people are silently conveying. As such, he tends to be overbearing and pushy. Despite that, he is still a fairly congenial man.

Skills: Multiple doctorates, a geneticist, marine scientist, and a wide variety of things relating to this. He became the head of R&D after the Mer project was initiated, by him.

General Appearance: A man of a rather slight build, he is by no means imposing, and a smile often on his face makes him look fairly amicable. What he wears varies greatly. When at work, he usually has a jacket and tie, when at home or doing things for relaxation, he usually has a t-shirt and shorts, or a wetsuit, if it suits the situation. (Namely, scuba diving, or otherwise floating in the water with a certain wet tagalong.)

His hair is kept short and straight, always looking neat and orderly.


Personality: A cheerful individual, and an incessant optimist. Tom is the sort of person to take a positive spin whenever he can. A lover of the sea, and gaining and imparting knowledge, he is well suited to the head of education in a very maritime company. Tom is happiest when on the water, under the water, or teaching a group of children.

Skills: A master diver, avid sailor, and he holds degrees in education, marine biology, and psychology.
