Which have you read? What's on your reading list?

I loved the Monk and the Castle of Otranto. I have to find another copy of Melmoth the Wanderer so I can finish it.

I nabbed a lot from the "reading list" in Lovecraft's essay on supernatural horror in literature. It's a fantastic list; if you haven't read the essay yet I highly recommend it, but beware, there are spoilers!

It's so madly hilarious. Most older books like that are rather verbose and take three pages to say anything. Walpole races. Things happen quickly and you feel vaguely like you're stumbling along after him xd
