alright, what's your biggest competition mishap? Mine: I was in our 4th winterguard competition and we were preforming. We were working up momentem to go to a one and a half and I hit the back of my leg, knocking it backwards. It hurt so bad and left a huge bruise, but I kept going and did the one and a half. I found out later my dad got my leg being backwards on a picture.

... You broke your ankle? Besides the fact that it would hurt, I'd be bawling my eyes out cause I couldn't preform and stuff. Gosh... How'd you manage that?
I think the biggest mishap was during my freshman year. In warm-ups one of our seniors shattered her saber when she dropped it. Luckily we had a spare with us. And now i think we always carry a spare.

We had a set of work where we hopped on one foot and my foot decided to land sideways. yet some how managed to push myself to perform (against my instructors wishes) of course that just worsened it and I was in a cast until the next season started. but it was worth it.

Ooo... Ouchies. At least you performed. I'm such a wimp to pain. Not to mention there's enough staff to hold me back from performing.

Wow broken ankles! Can't compeate with that...my senior year I performed with 2 guards. An independant team and my scholastic team. Well we were in a pretty high division in our local curcuit so during our warm-ups it was dark. My coach tells us to grab our stuff to head to our indoor warm up...well my coach has this great idea! We have time for one more standstill before we head in to "warm-up"...(did I mention it was sprinkling)...so we start and I was on sabre. (And we all know what sabres look like in the dark) me and my smart self actually let go of my solo parallel on accident. I lost it in the air. Muscle reflex helped me catch it in my right hand but I missed with my left. Got hit right in the eye! I literally thought I was gonna loose my eye because I couldn't even look forward. Sounds weired but my eye would kinda drop down. On our way to the paramedic table we passed the coaches of my independant team. They freaked and went off on my coach who was actually on the independant team with me! That was the worst comp exsperience ever!... Moral of the story, don't toss sabres when its dark and raining!

TheDarkAngel101 eek Again? Really? What happened this time? I was warming up, about 15 minutes into practice. We had to do a sash e turn, and when i turned i fell and broke my ankle sad . I scared the new members though. The first thing i said was "crap, AGAIN?!" I then had to sit out for most of practice so I wouldn't injure myself anymore. and about tossing sabre in the dark, I have learned that the hard way as well. i have whacked myself so many times, and my sabre has gone through my lip...

I don't do sabre or rifle but the girls who had to use them during football season. After their first time out they put a strip of tape on them. They were all blinded when the lights reflected off them.

my sabre is my best friend. I have gotten so many bruises that my instructor confiscated it (which was not fun) I would totally love to only be on flag for 32 counts and weapons for the rest smile

You sound like my sister, she hurts herself all the time.
This wasn't at a comp, but last marching season we were practicing during 2nd quater and it was kinda dark behind the football stands and we tossed out parallel with our sabres and it hit my lip. I immediently spat out blood. I had to perform like that cause "I wasn't dying" according to my couch.
