They are just used when we need a plot point to happen during a certain time of day.
Now start training before I get sucked into a plot point!

I told you what to do.
Rest for a post or two, then do self meditation for 3-4 posts. By the end of the posts you should be able to clearly see reiatsu and ghosts/Hollows, after that, you'll be able to access the training grounds on your own and I can teach you how to form a bow.
