Her family really wasn't approving of the idea that their daughter go and make a life of entertaining men, but they certainly weren't going to stand in her way. They decided that at a certain point, she was old enough to decide for herself, and would come crawling back once she was treated poorly, or didn't make it, whichever came first.

-Character Description/Personality: Determined, passionate, witty and charming Iyasu flows into any crowd with ease. When talking to a patron, I am witty and funny with a hint of sexyness. I would never let a patron see my true feelings though and I can hide them easily. To a patron, I would seem like a porcelan doll placed high on a shelf- beautiful, fragile, and almost out of reach. When not interacting with patrons, I still try to remain a lady but my true self comes out for all to see, which is a young woman who's very kind and caring- almost motherly to those I meet. My danna would be the only patron allowed to see the gentile heart which beats beneath my cold exterior. Because of my ability to hide my true feelings, I can adapt to any situation easily and can make the best of it because of my positive outlook on life.

-Character Description/Personality: Sadayakko is extremely intelligent; however, she wisely does not make much show of it. She is quiet, elegant, and gracious in all that she does; however, she has a sharp, sarcastic wit that can bite, though she tries to hide this as much as possible. She is 5'5 and slight, but pretty, weighing aproximately 105 pounds.
-Character Background: Sadayakko is named for a famous geisha whom her parents hoped she would follow in the footsteps of. They sent her off to be trained at a young age; however, they no longer have any contact with her. This came about when they attempted to use her for personal gain after great losses in their wealth. However, Sadayakko has put that family behind her, and embraces her new life and her new family (the Mizunoyuri Okiya) fully.

-Character Description/Personality: Locke is, to be put plainly, a cynical, sarcastic, bitter being. She believes everyone does something for a reason, that everything they do or say has an ulterior motive behind it. Everything somone does is done for self purposes. She knows this, she believes it. She does not think that she is not selfish, because she is. You can't be human and not be selfish.
She is open to any and all opinions. Indeed, she often likes hearing what people think about a certain subject. She enjoys talking about things that interest her, and as for things that don't...well, she's training to be a geisha, so she sucks it up and pretends to listen. When she socializes with customers or other people who don't know, she is sarcastic and cynical, but in a way that often makes people laugh.
-Character Background: Born on Kyushu*, Locke has come a long way from her home. Her mother was dead, and having no one to tie him to a certain place, her father moved them constantly, regardless of the fact he had a daughter. A popular kimono maker, he was constantly called away to different parts of Japan to make kimonos for people. While in Gion (?) he found that an okiya had an opening for a maiko, and paid to have Locke train to be a geisha so he wouldn't have to deal with her anymore.

-Character Picture: Locke has short, stacked black hair that goes to about her chin - maybe a couple centimeters short - and has almond-shaped grey eyes. Prefering to keep things simple, she is often found wearing a grey kimono with a blue and green obi. Her skin is fairly pale, although it's natural - it seems her skin is sun-resistant, for no matter how long she stays outside, she never gets sunburned or tan. She stands at about 5'5'', and when she walks she seems to glide - although not because she moves gracefully, but rather because she hardly picks up her feet.

-Character Background (no more than 5 sentences, please!): Himeko's parents (both Psi-Ghosts, so Himeko is one) were killed and she was adopted by a ninja clan they wanted to use her powers to be come an assasin able to kill and lock all the doors/windows and then walk out thru the door, making the perfect murder/assasination. Not wanting to kill or use her body to get "targets" into that kind of situation she instead walked into the vault and stole as many small and easy to carry valuables as she could and then slipped away into the night. Now no-one can just abandon their place in a ninja clan so she went into hiding (unknown to her the athorites found and almost wiped out the clan so she's not even known to have left the clan and is presumed dead). Leaving the Republic behind she entered the New Empire and headed for a city in which she could disappear for a while, and being trained in Go, Ikebana, and Caligraphy, and wanting to learn the complex Japanese Tea Cermony a geshia house seems like the best place to hide and learn more traditional skills.

-Character Background: Born in Kyoto to a semi-wealthy family of honorable stature, her father and mother had wanted a son, but this "poor excuse for a baby" wasn't enough for them. Once she was of age, they shipped her to a nearby Okiya where they paid her off, disowning her.

-Character Description/Personality: With long, black hair and strange eyes that are a mixture of blue-violet that seem to tint red when she gets angry, Mizu has a slim figure and pale skin, though her body is very flexible since she loves to dance. Mizu is generally cheerful, timid, and obedient, loves to make friends and please those around her, and hates arguments. Though she can easily be scared on a first impression, she does her best to stand up for those she loves through everything. She tends to be romantic and her dream is to become a geisha like her mother.
-Character Background (no more than 5 sentences, please!): Mizu's mother was a very prominent geisha of Gion and her father was a danna who married her mother. She was trained from a very young age to dance, sing, and speak pleasingly for others, until her parents were killed in an assassination at Tokyo. At the moment, Mizu is sixteen, turning soon seventeen, and as determined as ever to be as good a geisha as her mother was, which is why she came to the okiya located here in search of a place to fulfil her dream.

She was named this way by her mother, who, like all geisha, was a superstitious woman and found her daughter to be strongly grounded in the element of water. The Odoriko came from her mother's hopes that she would be a wonderful dancer; as dancing was something her mother had to work long and hard to master and be good at.

-Character Background: Kiyasama was orphaned at the age of three due to her parents were murdered by a powerful man of the village. She ran away from the village feeling she wasn't safe where she eventually came upon a dojo that trained her in fighting. Later on she came her to try to find herself.

She sought training from a powerful mage where she gained a alot of knowledge.
