oh so Extravagant...

Author of the Anita Black Vampire Hunter series as well as the Meredith gentry series.

Anyone else read her stuff?
She's one of my favourite authors. I very much enjoy her writing.
And yes I know, her later books in the Anita Blake series have a lot of sex in them, but that's not what I'm trying to discuss here.

Eh, romance novels are alright if you're in the mood for a little fluff, but the porn is generally not so great. You get better stuff in livejournal wink

We have like three separate vampire-porn series at work. It's hilarious.

Her writing style, whether you like it or not is up to personal opinion. I find it quite entertaining. Anita is a great, wonderfully deep and dynamic character.
And Hamilton does a good amount of research for her stuff which is always great.
I'm so glad that she portrayed faeries in a much more accurate light than most people do

Anita, or Ma Patite, or Ms Blake, even now Marshal Blake, is a remarkable strong woman, and a wonderful, leading character. Watching her learn to control her necromancy, the ardeur, her beasts, and fight Marmee Noir and Bell Morte, while balancing 11 men on her plate, Nathaniel being my favorite, is a truly gripping and tormentingly sexy experience that leaves me begging for more at the end of every book. wink

It was good at first, but after a while I just...couldn't stand reading it anymore. Its not that its badly written, but I can only spend so much reading time outside my preferred genre.

I love her stuff, I hope to own the entire anita blake series, so i can make all of my friends read them, and so i could read them over and over again, they are fiendishly sexy and thrilling...a mix between horror love reality and fantasy...

the anita blake novels, aren't your run of the mill romance...there is also a good deal of blood gore and conflict, all I have to say is ateast they don't call the woman's sexual area, a velvet sheith every single time there is a sex part...or calling a mans p***s "his sex"

Christene feehan...does this bull, and there is allways a happy ending with christene feehan, which is not the case with Larell k hamilton, you should read the book she has out called Panic snap...

Very true, Laurell K Hamilton's writing is not always "flowery" when writing about the sex scenes. Actually a good portion of the time it's not at all .__.

I like the story she's weaved with Anita, it's very deep and complex.

I prefer Merry over Anita, but that's just me. I've met Laurell at a booksigning, got her autograph and a picture with her. I used to live in St. Louis, where she's from, so her books have extra meaning for me because I know where the hell everything is!

I really like her books.

I've loved the books since I started reading them in the middle..... I started with Obsidian Butterfly, not knowing it was a series at the time.... then went to Narcissus before going to the beginning XD

And I know were not discussing the sex part of the books, but I would like to point out that if it didn't happen, bad hurtful painful things like death would happen in its place razz
