Much of the information learned in previous lessons still apply here; describe your movements and attack patterns, use sound effects and even dialogue to your advantage. This topic will simply advise you on the important factors to keep in mind while doing a fight:

Location - Try to keep a visual of the fight in your heard. Knowing what your characters position and your opponent's position are is key when performing an action. There is little point to slicing at someone who is too far away, or trying to stab a body part that is too high to reach with the length of your weapon. Plan it out, and don't limit yourself to one move; if one doesn't work, try another.

Moderation - Sure, you could perform a hundred different moves in a single post and make a nice long post, but then what? Your opponent has to respond to you, and if they can't keep track of everything, then how can they respond. Limit yourself to doing a few things and end it off in a way that tells the other player what they have to deal with; this is known as segway, meaning that one thing leads into another. By providing segway, you ensure things can continue smoothly.

Overkill - Performing a fancy move might seem flashy, but one can quickly run out of those. Even small movements, such as a duck or a kick, can be made grand by description. Don't fall back on predictable finishing moves or repeated flash-with-no-substance attacks, and instead devote yourself to making the most of the small things.

Deus Ex Machina - Deus EX Machina is a fancy word that simply means an unseen advantage coming from nowhere. An example in bleach was when Nnoitra Jiruga's hollow hole was in the same spot that Kenpachi stabbed through, thus saving his life. These are great for dramatic effect, and I have no problem with the occasional one (provided they are approved in profile) but not every post should be a Deus Ex Machina or your fight just turns into a game of can-you-top-this and you look like a god modder.
