Is no-one excited about it?
I've never even watched TOS but I'm kindof looking forward to it.

I'm not really looking forward to it myself. I don't agree with the casting or the direction they are taking things. Personally, I hate when any series has to try and recast itself to catch a new audience instead of boldly going where no one has gone before. This is attempting to safely "re-imagine" something that has gone and kicked a** before. Give me a movie in the future of trek, not the past, as that would be far better to me. Ah well though, I guess I should be happy Enterprise didn't kill Trek for good xd

Yes very much! be happy there is anything new at all! (even if it is trying to be old)

I saw the first trailer for it on TV yesterday, has anyone else seen one?

Perhaps you shouldn't look at it as a recasting. They said that anyone could watch this because it doesn't rely on knowledge of TOS. Look at it as something you never knew before

I am so mad I had to give a way my opening night ticket because I can't get in to the theater bloody broken ankle. Now I am the only one in my family that's not seen it. oh are they bugging me about it now. Sorry for the rant. sweatdrop Let me get to the reason I was posting I have been told it is quite good from those who watched the TOS when it first came on.

Zachary Quinto's performance as "Young Spock" was better than I had expected. Overall, the film was "fun," but did not inspire much thought. I was disappointed in the lack of explanation regarding the so-termed red matter.
