My band won grand campion sweep stakes last night. Im so happy i just want to share with you all, im not bragging its just like the first time we have won it this year. what awards have to guys have recieved this year?

We got 2nd place in our class last Saturday. We thought we would make 3rd, cause there were only two bands that won all the caption awards, and neither of them was us, but we pulled through anyway. wink
|

congratulations!
this year was crap. we got 2nd place at all of our comps. 2nd place is good EXCEPT WHEN YOU ALWAYS WIN 1ST AND GRAND CHAMPION.
that really irked everyone this year.....especially since two of our rivals beat us.....robinson at the first, woodson at the second.
our director keeps reminding us that we're doing a show marching to concert music which is already pretty impossible to play and we had to fit the entire* band onto 2/3s of a football field because of construction.
*entire: unless you're in a sport, marching band is mandatory. if your instrument doesnt march, you have to learn another instrument for marching season.
hopefully we'll do amazing again next year.
not that we arent amazing this year. we pretty much only lost by .5 at each one. and we still got 1s and a superior rating at state festival......thats 25 years in a row! ^^

This year out band broke some of the "customary rules" and the judges aren't liking it. Like, for instance, we have our pit out on the field along with a colorguard ramp and we don't use the entire field--we're off center. Flutes use flags for part of the show... there's just a lot of things we do differently and no one seems fond of it.

We've gotten 1st place and the guard award 5 times. We just won Chapter championships Saturday. (I'm not trying to sound arrogant redface )
Fact being, we haven't been head to head with most of the top bands in our group yet so we'll see what happens at ACCS.

We had Showcase (the big, major band competition around here) yesterday and my band (well, I graduated last year, but I still think of them as my band) competed in AAAA class (even though we're technically only AA...70ish people) and they got 4th! Overall! Straight 1s, best DM, 3rd place guard (the 2 that beat them out weren't even real guard, but dance teams scream )!

Last Night at OMEA State FInals in Dayton, OH, my band got a 1 (superior) rating.
This weekend is Grand Nationals and we are very excited.

Well lets say that we haven't been doing good I think our first comp we got 2nd and then our second comp we got last outta 4th and our third comp we got 5th outta 6th. But screw that its all about the colorguard. the First comp guard got First, second comp we got 2nd and then our third comp we won the 2A caption. We got FIRST! I was surprised because I really don't think we looked that gewd.

Back from my band trip. Man, we nearly swept at the competition. It was awesome, but sad because we had to go to a different state to actually win anything. xd

We sucked last season, got 2cd once all the rest we got last or second to last, oh well, a new year is now upon us!

last year we got 2nd place at nationals. we lost by .1 point i forget how we did this year.

at the last competition we did really good! in prelims we got high auxiliary, but in finals we got second in guasd by half a point! our band placedsecond overall though, and we won high drum major! we havent had our championships yet
