I know we all worship the ground upon which RA Salvatore walks, but in our love of his works we prove that we love the fantasy genre in general. I wanted to discuss or introduce the works of Karen Miller I've been reading recently to people who might enjoy her writing. There a particular place to post somethin like that? Or is it simply not acceptable?

I'm putting this into the Chatterbox.
The Chatterbox is where anything NON-Salvatore related is put. ^_^

IF its a non-forgotten realms authro, that would probobly be best, because this seems to be a drizzt/salvatore based guild
P.S. as much as i like salvatores charachters, i dont worship him...i worship ed greendwood for without the realms-father, Elminster nor faerun would exist...but noone wants ot acknoledge that crying

Actually, I've seen a few of Greenwood's books (like Dark Lord, or something like that...), and I've been wanting to read them... sadly, I am lacking in non-school money right now...

I don't worship Salvatore- I know there are better/other authors out there... I just happen to adore his characters and remember his name real easy.
heart Hideyuki Kikuchi however, I may admit to worshiping. heart
Euh, Terry Prachet is also a good time to be had. ._. Neil Gaiman also has a spectacular repertoire.
Otherwise I don't remember authors much, but I know the one who did Wizards of the Grove was good, and I enjoyed the one that did Dragons Bait. Vande Velde I think it was?
Can't think of more right now... maybe later... maybe.

I think his style is better than Salvatore. Sadly I haven't one of his series finished yet^^" And someone else I like much is Elaine Cunningham, or better her series 'bout Liriel^^

Chris Evans is really good. I know by now he has at least two books out. A Darkness Forged in Fire and The Light of Burning Shadows.
I was reading this King Arthur trilogy in school, when someone borrowed books 2, 7, and 9 of The Legend of Drizzt... (should that be underlined?) I can't remember the author though.
I like a book series kown as Pendragon. by MacHale. It's about a kid who goes to there alternate worlds to stop this one guy who wants to destroy them...

Other than Salvatore, I usually read Stephen King books. I've gotten through about... 8-10 of them. They're not in a series (like Dark Towers) and the longest one of his I read would probably be It or Insomnia. Both of them were really freaking long.

... Harry Potter is good...
Not much Fantasy than it is fiction but two of my favorite books are:
White Fang and Call of the Wild
Kinda surprised it isn't in here yet but,
Chris Paolini's Inheritance series (Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr)

I used to be a Forgotten Realms-only reader smile With particular love for Salvatore.
For another fantasy series I humbly suggest George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire. It's a little R-rated with some gore and incest and such but ultimately one of the best series that I have ever read.

I read books with witches, vampires, and lycanthropes. Not that sparkly s**t. talk2hand
I like Kim Harrison's Hollows series, or Rachel Morgan series. Jenks...*snicker* <3. I read Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series, though she's ruined it. I read uh, Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series. I read lots of things. I have a friend who seriously has over 3,000 books in her room and she throws boxes full of books at me to read. I have 20 of her books in my room. I'm reading the Ill Made Mute right now.

I was on a site called TVtropes.org on Friday. It taught me something about Christopher Paolini...
He's an a** donkey. and possibly gay...
To understand what I mean look up the Inheritence cycle on tvtropes.org .
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've read that sparkly s**t... It's horrible... Truthfully I was never into vampires, and I'm definatly not going to get into it now with all the Twilight rip-offs that will be flying into market.
I was always more into the sword and sorcery stuff.

I still love vampire stories... Twilight, however, has deterred me from writing another vampire story again. Especially since the last one I tried revamping a fanfic into something more realistic. Karak called me out on how Twilight-ish it sounded. Thank you, babe. That's why I love you. wink
I've heard a lot about A Song of Ice and Fire, so that might have to be a book we check out after I finish reading Sellswords, Hunter's Blade Trilogy, HP books 4-7, and at least The Hobbit.
Yeah, I have a lot of books to read. >.>
