(( since I am so -not- doing a birthing rp, I've deiced to instead do an after birth rp. The birth happened the day before, this is the morning after. The cubs were born in the order of their numbers, so Amy's girl is first born, followed by wu's girl, amon's boy, puck's girl, siney's girl, and shar's boy being the youngest.
those with ties to Kali can post here as well (I'm looking at you Lake!))) It had been a long day, a long night, though perhaps Mahakali could not speak so much for the night as she had slept through most of it. How furious she had been, her growls louder, snarl fierced as her belly had grown. Infuriating, a proud warrior unable to hunt, to run, barely to walk. If she ever got her paws on that male again, she'd be sure he left with more than a few scars.
But now, as the beast stirred, warmed by the desert sun, her muzzle nudging at the small creatures at her side, Mahakali knew that it had been worth the result. Ironic, the children of a Simo lioness and a Safi lion, a chance encounter on the sands. Not that it truly mattered, they were both firekin, strong, proud (she would have never mated had the lion not earned her respect). Such beautiful strong children, and they were hers, hers to raise, to mold, to show the world what true strength was.
Gently, a mother's touch, her tongue rolled across the top of the oldest's head, a girl who looked amazingly like herself, such a magnificent creature.
She nudged in each cub in turn, assuring herself that they were strong, healthy, that they had what they needed to survive, food, warmth. A dark red girl with brilliant markings that mimicked her own, a white boy, ghostly as the desert itself, a striking white with hints of her own father, a brilliant red girl that shone like a brilliant flame. And finally the youngest, dark red like his sire with markings like her own.
Such magnificent children, her children, her warriors.

Lakeisha had known better than to make her venture into the den of her companion when the lioness had been in a state of vulnerability and instead had taken to waiting outside through the night, having even at one point been guilty of falling asleep at her post.
But once the morning had come, Lakeisha had stirred and made sure to see if the ebb of the unknown disaster had come to an end before the white lioness had finally poked her head inside to see what it was that had brought all the racket.
And it seemed it was SIX little 'was' to bring the racket, stirring the lionesses curiousity of the children.
"They're quite the sight..." Lakeisha said, offering Kali a light bow of her head, before she continued on with her thought, "And quite capable looking. I congratulate you on your young warriors..." She squeaked and stretched her little paws out under the touch of her mother, even showing off some little and unthreatening claws for the effort, digging them painlessly and ineffectively against her mother's belly.
She'd show... ... Whatever it was she was pressing her paws into! D

Yawning hugely and curling into the soft warm oh her mother, the littlest female voiced a squeaky growl at the equally small bodies pressing around her. How dare they try to steal the nice warm spot she'd claimed as her own! Why, she'd teach them a lesson.. just as soon as she could see them.

The world was a strange place. Even weirder when she couldn't see what was going on, but she could feel her siblings all around her, and her mother's nudge, which prompted a mewl of protest, though it hardly sounded like such a thing. If she were older, and actually understood what was going on, she might be disappointed at this particularly pathetic display. but right now, honestly?
She couldn't care less. She was fierce, for all she cared!
Now, what she did care about, however, were these damn siblings, moving and grabbing warm spots.

The eldest, the almost clone to the warrior-mother, gave a great big mewl and a wiggle at the contact from her mother, stirring some kind of natural reaction within. Had she been older, she might have possessed her father's reasoning and self-debating skills, and mused over her lot in life. But she wasn't, so she was content in her very young mind and its main directives - warmth and food.
She wasn't even as fussy about the competition as her siblings were, it was all means to an end.

A smile spread across her maw, pride in her eyes as her gaze fell on her companion, her head for once free of the ram skull helm. Though perhaps she did not appear some monstrous without the skull, despite the exhaustion that still claimed her body, Mahakali bore an impressive form.
"They will be strong, great warriors...as are we."
Her had lowered again, watching over her children. Such spirit they already showed, already so like their mother. Yes, they would be great warriors. She would teach them as the god of war had once taught her, there would be no strength to rival theirs.----------------- His maw parted, showing tiny fangs, paws stretching to lash at whoever was touching him. This was -his- spot, and he did not intend to move or yield to anyone. A pathetic growl, back off!
Satisfied that his spot was secure, or as satisfied as a newborn could be, the small cub curled against his mother's side, ignoring his siblings in favor of sleep. He'd deal with them later.

They all squirmed and reacted to their siblings and mother pushing against them, which was a sight that BAFFLED Lake in the sense that she had never had siblings (as far as she had known or cared), so the dynamic was something she'd never seen before.
But between all of the small bodies she was able to see that very true potential of them all. Yes, they were six small bodies of potential who would stand tall with the two friends and be feared. Wonderfully and horribly so.
"Strong in body, strong in mind, and fearsome in form. They have the makings of it already." Lakeisha agreed, her tone the same one she boasted when she held no need to 'further' her opinion with the agreement of other. A flat finish to her words.
But they were the truest words that could have been said about the six little cubs.
They would most definitely be feared.

The small male with colors of crimsom and shadow huffed at the paws and tails that pressed against him trying to push him away. He didnt like it out in this place. It was cold and he wanted his warmth back. He was in a sour mood after being thrust into this cold, noisy place and wanted no part of the pushing.
He huffed, a very tiney rumble coming from his throat that sounded more like a purr than a growl. He nipped at any limbs that happened to come close to his mouth and continued to press himself against the warm spot he had claimed as his own. He kicked and flailed his little paws at anyone who got to close.
This was his spot!

Her maw parted, a roar falling from powerful jaws, rumbling in her chest. It was a fierce call, a call of pride, a call that her children would certainly become familiar with in the coming days. Her voice was strong, proud, a voice that none dared question.
Today, the call went out to all ears, an announcement to the pride, a warning to the world of what had arrived, of the birth of her warriors, children of blood and fire.
Sleep, my little ones, grow fierce and strong, soon your training begins.-end
