Imrahi was taught under private tutors in her House, until a near fatal accident occurred. Rahi was nearly caught and killed by a dryder and was saved by her best friend and confidant Charune. Both families created a contract, as seers had been consulted years before concerning both girls, which foretold how a warrior would save the life of a healer and the healer would in turn save the warrior in return. Charune's family had high hopes for her, as she was the eldest female. Imrahi's family wasn't as well off as the other House so they figured becoming allies with the other House would help their chances of going further. Imrahi and Charun were not happy when they were separated, and sent off in to directions. They weren't told of the visions of their futures so they believed they had lost one another and the two of them fervently got immersed in their studies. Charune in her fighting, and Imrahi in her healing and cleric studies.

My hands are searching for you My arms are outstretched towards you I feel you on my fingertips My tongue dances behind my lips for you
This fire rising through my being Burning I'm not used to seeing you
I'm still alive, I'm still alive
I can feel you all around me Thickening the air I'm breathing Holding on to what I'm feeling Savoring this heart that's healing
My hands float up above me And you whisper you love me And I begin to fade Into our secret place
The music makes me sway The angels singing say we are alone with you I am alone and they are too with you, you
I'm still alive I'm still alive We're still alive
And I can feel you all around me Thickening the air I'm breathing Holding on to what I'm feeling Savoring this heart that's healing
So I cry Holy The light is white Holy And I see you Only You
And I'm alive I'm still alive We're still alive
And I can feel you all around me Thickening the air I'm breathing Holding on to what I'm feeling Savoring this heart that's healing
Take my hand I give it to you Now you own me All I am You said you would never leave me I believe you I believe
I can feel you all around me Thickening the air I'm breathing Holding on to what I'm feeling Savoring this heart that's healed

Minyaagar's and Byagane's Winning Entry. Im'rahi had been fortunate to spot the tell tale signs that Charune's disease was rearing its ugly head before they had gone out that morning. If she hadn't one of Charune's nasty sisters would have noticed and taken her out without a second thought. This was why Im’rahi had come to take care of her companion several years ago. Im'rahi was still sure that one of Charune's sisters was probably the one who had caused the disease; she was still trying to figure out how it had happened and how to eradicate it from Rune's system.
The symptoms were still puzzling. Whenever the disease reared its head, Rune's gold eyes would start going pale, sometimes even to the point where they were see through. Often a high fever would follow which would lead to dizziness and fainting. IN the worst cases, Rune would become paralyzed in her hands as well as her feet. This made it pretty much up to Rahi to take care of Rune, and make sure no one knew the real purpose for why Rune wasn't about to her normal duties. Rune sighed softly from the bed she had occupied many times. It was here that her dear Rahi always isolated her when her disease flared up. Her friend was so dear to her and always there to care for her. It was as if she was trying to repay all the times Rune had cared for her when they were children. Ah, their childhood, the memories she shared. And it was today that one memory stuck out in her mind. The screams of a frightened child, the roar of a drider, and the smell of blood everywhere. It was that day that the two girls' lives were forever intertwined. A day that Rune never regretted and cherished in a strange way.
Under the covers, the priestess had a present for her dearest companion. The one who cared more for her than perhaps her own family. It was a small stuffed drider, a testament to the memory of the day Rune saved Rahi's life. It was a warm day in the Underdark and it would have been peaceful had it not been for the roar of a drider freed of his chains. It ran rampant through the streets, killing many of the servants in the housing area.
With one turn of the corner it had it's sights set on the red eyes of Rahi, a small child and easy target. The dark creature roared it's blood-thirst and charged. Rune still remembered the scream of her friend even though she didn't remember the thoughts that lead to her next move. She had immediately hung out her window, grabbed her friend, and used all her strength to pull her away from the bloody claws. With one kick she hit a scaffolding next to the window, sending it crashing down onto the drider and killing it. Rahi was so concerned for her friend that she didn't have a clue that the day had any sort of special meaning. She looked up from where she was administering a poultice to Charune's paralyzed feet when she heard her friend sigh. "Are you alright?" She asked; worry etched on her brow. Rune smiled softly and nodded. "I'm excellent. I have something for you Rahi dear." She removed the small stuffed drider from under the covers and held it out to her friend. "Do you....remember? All those years ago?" She sounded tired, well mostly she was but not too tired to celebrate this day Rahi's eyebrow shot up as she reached for the stuffed drider, the horrific memory flashing through her mind. She held it close for a moment, and then spoke in a low tone, almost reverently. "How could I forget? That was the worst and best day of my life. I thought that monster was going to kill me, and then suddenly you were there. With your arms outstretched, and yelling for me to grab hold." Happy tears streamed down Rahi's face as she turned her gaze on Rune's. "Even with all that's been going on with you, you still remembered? Ah, Rune, you are the best companion a drow could ask for." Rune smiled at her friend, reaching over to take her dark hand in her own. "I was so scared for you. I didn't let you leave my sight for a week after." She closed her eyes for a moment as a wave of dizziness over came her. She did not want to faint now. "Then...that day. My first fever. I hadn't come to breakfast and you came to check on me. I still remember my own fear. The fear I would die alone in that room. Then you appeared. Your arms out stretched yelling for me to hold on." She opened her golden eyes again. "You are the best companion a drow could ever ask for."Im'rahi pulled a wet cloth over Rune's forehead with her free hand, looking into Rune's eyes to assess how far the disease was proceeding, then wrapped her hands around Rune's and leaned forward resting her head next toe the priestess', drowning in Rune's golden eyes. "I remember. I was so scared, and I had no clue if what I was doing was right or wrong. But I did everything I could, and thankfully it was enough. Thank goodness we've come farther in our expertise since then. We are going to beat this thing. I will find out what is going on, even if I have to destroy your sisters in order to do so."Rune laughed softly at her friend's words. Ah yes she had no doubt her sisters were involved in this but proving it was difficult. She didn't know exactly what was wrong with her. It had all started during a family expedition they had entered a giant forest of mushrooms. Staying only a night the group had made its way through but a few days later, at home, Rune had fallen ill. Since then, Rahi had been at her side for years treating all her symptoms in secret. Only the matron knew of this illness and it worried her. Rune was the heir apparent to the house thereby making her a prime target for attack. But she was a powerful and intelligent priestess, her loyalty to the Spider Queen never in question. She was the only fully trained priestess of the house. All the rest were warriors, assassins, or seers. That was her house's greatest power; the seers. They helped many of the upper houses with formulating attacks with their visions. But in conjunction with being useful they were also on many hit lists. So they enlisted Rahi's house to keep them safe and protect their greatest seers. That was where Rune had met the ruby eyed female at her side. She gazed at the female, remembering the smaller child she had loved to play with and tell secrets too.Im'rahi loosened her hold on Charune's hands, and climbed in the bed next to her, snuggling close to her. At least the both of them knew that the disease wasn't contagious, though they had kept this secret from Rune's household, otherwise her room would have become a virtual hubbub of noise. If there was one thing that Rahi knew about Rune, it was that the priestess liked having her privacy. And if anything or anyone disrupted that she would go into a fury over it. Thankfully, with Rahi being a healer she had been able to convince the entire household to stay away from Rune's quarters unless she had a request. This always gave them the opportunity to bask in each others presence without having to hide their feelings. Or mask them. Rahi hated having to pretend that her only interest in Rune was that of a healer, when her feelings went even deeper. The female smiled as her friend climbed into the bed. She remembered many a night the healer had feigned a need to see her just to spend time with her. Those nights she cherished more than anything. Rune sighed as she felt her fever beginning to rise. "Ahh....will I ever be rid of this Rahi? How can I run the house like this?" She looked over to the healer. "How can I care for you when it's all I can do to care for myself?" Im'rahi felt the slight rise of Rune's temperature and gently turned Rune over to face her, running her hands down the other's face as she chanted a soothing spell under her breath. When the fever lowered enough for Rahi's liking, she brushed her friend's hair out of her face and replied gently. "You had better not give up on me dear Rune, I never will. We will find a way to rid your body of this disease, which I promise you. Despite how bleak the future may seem this is not the time to give up. This is the time to fight, with everything you have." Rahi smiled, and wrapped her arms around Rune, adding. "Oh love, you've already cared for me in the past. Now it's my turn to take care of you. And once we beat this thing, then it will be your turn again."Rune laughed softly, wrapping her larger longer arms around the small healer. She had always been the larger more powerful of the two, usually being the one initiating all their physical fun. Ah she thought of the lovely future, now that her future was far more happier with the lovely drow in her arms. "Ah you know I am a fighter, I'd even face the sadists of your house to ensure your safety. No disease could stop me from exacting my revenge should they ever lay a hand on you." She couldn't help but giggle as her love commented about who would take care of who. "Ah yes, but my true dream, other than to be the Matron and see my sisters dead, is the day we both take care of each other equally. Worshiping Lloth as the strong women we both are."Im'rahi snuggled closer to Rune, sighing softly. Just mention of her family caused her to become paranoid. The many female priestess and paladins of her house were the vindictive sort when they felt they had been betrayed or manipulated in some way. Which was exactly how they felt about Im'rahi. They had pretty much vowed the day she had left to take care of Charune that they would kill her for her betraying them in such a fashion. "It scares me to even think of what they're plotting against me." She replied with a shudder running through her spine. "I was just teasing dear Rune, about it being your turn," She giggled happily. "I can see a bright future ahead of us, being equals in every sense. Though of course, you'd be the Matron." Rune smiled. "Oh so you are a seer now? I thought that was my house's job. Well, lets sleep for now. I should be fine again in a few hours. At least enough to complete my duties for the day." She closed her golden eyes and let herself enjoy the warm presence of her beloved healer. Im'rahi smiled back, "No. I'm just a romantic I guess. At least that's what other people have called me." She relaxed in Charune's arms, watching as the other finally closed her eyes and fell off into a restful sleep. She waited until the other was resting peacefully before her gently and expertly extracted herself from the others arms. Then she covered up Rune, tucking in the corners of the coverlet around her just like she preferred it. She smiled over the sleeping form of her friend, leaned over and kissed her lightly on the brow, whispering softly, "I love you dear Rune."

Charune, I can't believe it! They're sending me away! And they won't let me go outside or over to see you! Have they told you anything about what's going on?
I hate this..not being able to confide in you and being shipped off to school. My Maid Dris says its one of the best magic school in all of the Underdark, and i should be happy to be getting the opportunity to learn among other people.
Can't anyone see how miserable I am? I don't want to go. I want to stay here and go about my lessons at home and be able to come visit you every day. I wonder if they'll even let me send this letter to you before they pack me up and send me off. *sigh* My best bet would be to sneak out of the House late when the maid is asleep and stash the letter in our secret hideout. I hope you aren't being restricted as much as I am. I hope you find this letter.
I don't see how i will survive away from you Rune. You're my best friend, the one person I can tell all my secrets to. You're my soulmate, I can feel it. I shall never forget you..and i will love you always.
Im'rahi
