So, we have a guild. We have an ideal. We have a cause.

But we need a plan, as it were. We need a clear vision, and a goal to achieve it. Our goal is a lofty one, and perhaps unachievable, but a good idea of exactly what we want to accomplish and how we should go about accomplishing it could definately make a difference. Something that seperates us from similiar organizations, such as that new thing Flip's got going. She's a lot less sexy when she's not amusing, I must note.

So, this is what I propose - what should be in our mission statement? This is what I feel should be in it so far:

"To promote the ideal that a trail by flames, when used in moderation, is far more effective when educating the masses than subtlety or kindness, and far more efficiant."

"That only by having organized and intelligent discussions of the problems we, as individuals and as a group, perceive with Gaia Online and the online community as a whole can others be enlightened; only by acting on our beliefs can others understand there is anything to act against at all."

"To make it known that while the moderators are human, and thus prone to err, they to should be held to the same laws they hold us to, and should not create instances of exception unless the rules they create provide for it."

"To push for a stronger FAQ, so that new users that might be inclined may have a definitive yet concise resource to answer their questions."

"To promote a sense of order by countering what we see as unjust acts with acts of our own."

"To air our grievances so that others may not feel afraid to do likewise."

Any thoughts?

And I just got a trunk when I posted this. In it was a Prisoner's Top. Egad...

I have pleased the godfather. It's like winning at the internet, only better. So, can you think of any suggestions, any changes or additions? Eventually, I want this mission statement to be in paragraph form, and not in list form.

As head of the "Public Relations and Customer Service" division, I'm thinking about posting an actual topic in the ED introducing our purpose and pushing for some reformation of the ED from the mods. Permission to complete?

We have the foundations here, but now I am asking all members to recruit. All captains and Head-Soldiers need their own teams of at least 4 or 5. Once this has been done we shall head forth and claim glory.

If the godfather wishes me to recruit, then recruit I shall.
