Welcome to Japanese Gods and Goddesses Dictionary. I for one don't really know any of the Gods and Goddesses in Japanese folklore, so I am filling this in by googling for them. Therefore if you see that there is one that you know and it isn't anywhere on the list, then please let me or the person in charge of this sub-forum know in the Missing Gods and Goddesses thread.
Now, the reason that the letters L, P, Q, R, V, W, X, and Y are missing is because I haven't yet ran across any gods or goddesses that have names containing those letters as the first letter. Or I doubt I will for V, seeing as how there is technically no V in the Japanese alphabet.
Well, again welcome and enjoy. Don't to forget to contribute your knowledge.

Aizen Myoo: Japanese god of love. Was worshipped by prostitutes, singers, musicians, and landlords. Ajisuke Takahikone: God of thunder. Ama-No-Minaka-Nushi: 'Divine Lord of the Middle Heavens' and god of the Pole Star. Ama No Uzume: Japanese fertility goddess, used for good crops. Amaterasu: "Great Shining Heaven". Japanese sun goddess, guardian of the Japanese people and ruler of all deities. One of her tasks was to weave sacred robes for the gods. When Amaterasu's troublesome brother Susanowo wreaked havoc on her land, she had to hide in a cave to escape the misery. He destroyed the forests, rice paddies, and the Heavenly Weaving Hall, killing Ama-Terasu's favorite weaving maiden. He sealed the cave that Amaterasu was hiding in so that no sunlight could reach the earth. The gods worriedly met to plan a way to free her. After many failures to induce her to leave the cave, the lewd dancer Uzume stepped forth. She danced so that the gods all were delighted and laughed so much that the cave shook. Amaterasu opened the door of the cave a bit to see what was going on, and asked why they would laugh in such a grim time. Uzume said that they were happy because a new, better, more beautiful sun goddess has come to replace her. Amaterasu immediately demanded to see this goddess, and was shown a mirror. She was startled and spellbound by her own reflection long enough for the gods to drag her from the cave, and so the world was light again and there was much rejoicing. Amaterasu symbolizes warmth, harvest, love, fertility, goodness, wisdom, peace, light, sun, compassion. Amatsu Mikaboshi: Japanese god of evil, darkness Amatsu-Kami: Gods of heaven who live 'above' the earthly plain. Heavenly and eternal. Ama-Tsu-Mara: Shinto god of smiths. He is pictured as a Cyclops. Ame-No-Mi-Kumari: Shinto water goddess. Ame-No-Wakahiko: God sent to rule the earth. Killed by the sky god Takami-Musubi.
