I like J-rock, goth metal, and classical to name a few. Of course I'm a pretty big sucker for cellos and bagpipes too.

I enjoy ost music, I'm not picky. I just don't like hip-hop/rap or country.

Extravagantly Yours I enjoy ost music, I'm not picky. I just don't like hip-hop/rap or country. That's too bad. You may want to keep an open mind to both. There's some pretty amazing stuff in either genre, but a lot of it gets passed over because of either genre's reputation. Both genres have fantastic artists, like all other genres, and both aren't totally without twinges of goth. Dr. Steel has become a major cult figure in the steampunk scene for his impressive aesthetic and his catchy blend of steampunky electronica with hip-hop. Likewise, alternative rap label Anticon have got a large and growing following in the goth community for their eclectic experimental rap, such as this track by Anticon crossover group Themselves. Country has an even bigger goth crossover than hip-hop. A large number of bands are growing into prominence under genre titles like "gothabilly", "gothic americana", and "southern gothic". Vets of the genre Slim Cessna's Auto Club really set a lot of trends, but there really are quite a few popular bands that dig into the dark folk tales of Appalachia and the mystery of deep Southern bogs: Reverend Glasseye and His Wooden Legs, Strawfoot, Grey DeLisle, and 16 Horsepower, to name a few. The growth of this new subset of goth is HUGE, largely coming out of the dark cabaret following.

As I put in the introduction, I like pretty much all music however Country, and Pop are at the bottom of favorites.
Metal, Noise, Industrial, Coldwave, Darkwave, Rap, Punk etc. I like stuff like that the most.

σн §σ €xтяαvαgαηт... @GilAskan- alright I spoke too soon to be honest. I have been known to like some country artists, especially since I grew up around the music.
As for rap/hip-hop, I don't like most modern stuff, I think it's just plan shitty. 3OH!3 is good though Most of it's just not to my taste however Questing Steel-Plated Ninja Band (Again)

I'm more of a rocker chick... I like heavy metal, rock, some death metal (actually, one death metal band... I don't know what they're called 'cause my dad listens to them), and... that's about it. I'm worried that I'll turn into my father though, 'cause he's a metalhead; the one that introduced me to it all... but he's also an a*****e, and I'm afraid that, I too, might grow up to be one...

тεℓℓ мε ωнαт ι αм αℓℓ αвouт... Twisted- music won't make you an a*****e hun, don't worry about it If you're still worried about being too much like him, you could always try to find new bands to listen to along with the ones you currently do. Check out the music directory, there's a bunch of good stuff listed on there. A Quest---

Sir Vincent Has anyone here heard of Bauhaus or should I leave right now? I keep debating opening a Bauhaus thread here, but it seems a little confrontational. Opening a Bauhaus thread immediately seems (to me) like opening a "So, are there any REAL goths here?" thread.
