Alarms were blaring in the facility as the guards hurried through the halls with weapons ready. Their footsteps almost seemed to make a cadence as they hurried down the halls, "Make sure she is unharmed!!" one of the doctors shouted as he poked his head out the doorway.
A young woman, perhaps 23, ran down the halls. She wore nothing but a hospital gown and had a medical bracelet around her right wrist. Her amethyst eyes peered nervously around as she moved from corner to corner trying to evade her pursuers. The woman stood about 5'7" with a slim and captivating body frame. Both fit and pleasing to the male eye. Her skin was a lightly tanned color, and she had a barcode on the back of her neck. Straight black hair with silver highlights fell loosely to her mid-back. A few codes were also engraved upon her back that looked like tattoos.
She was almost to an exit route when she was cut off by a group of officers. Red lights flared signaling the building of her escape. The officers had shields and weapons ready as they slowly advanced upon her. The woman looked from side to side as she tried to devise a plan of escape.
Taking a step back and looking up, she saw a vent above her. The officers only watched her keenly. She suddenly jumped, and grabbed at the vent, somehow ripping it out. Landing she tossed the vent one direction as the officers approached from the other side. She was attacked by the nearest, but she defended herself. Grabbing hold of one, she threw him at the others, scattering the men. With the split second diversion she jumped into the air again and pulled herself into the vent. If she could get to the elevator shaft she could make her way out!
"She's in the vents..." the lead officer radioed as the men stopped below the open vent aiming their scopes upward, "stand down..." he signaled the men, "move out!"

-A semi-literate RP about a group of individuals living in a world that isn't always what it seems. What happens when they somehow, perhaps by fate or merely pure chance, cross paths?
-no profiles are really needed just give us a good introduction ^__^ you don't have to be some souped up person or special. If you want to be an average joe/mary jane who's life is simply flipped upside down by these events, go for it. We have an entire city and world to experiment with ^^
-if you'd like a profile i just want basics: name: age: appearance: interesting fact:

Eventually her escape plan lead her outside the building, but she was on the roof. The Laboratory was positioned at the edge of a cliff. Below the cliff were the raging waters of sea. The guards called frantically as they followed her, trying to cut off her escape. Helicopters were even launched to try and intercept her. The wind chilled her to the bone, but she'd experienced worse. Looking back she stood at the edge, holding the flimsy medical dress around her body, "I would rather wish death than return" she said with a faint accent as she suddenly jumped from the side of the building into the waters below.
There was a large splash as she submerged, and the officers went into a frenzy. A ship was sent out to try and find her remains, but nothing would be found. She'd gone far under the water, her body slowly sinking as she watched the surface slowly disappear. Finally, all went black as her body drifted with the current. Her mind was a haze, and for a moment she would think she really was dead.
Her body wasn't found by the officers, but she wasn't assumed dead either. As she fell into her deep slumber, her body was washed away and she'd eventually come ashore a good distance away, her clothing gone and only her hair covering herself. She laid upon the beach unconscious.
Morning was just arriving when the female began to awaken. Though her memory was a bit blurry, she seemed to be fine enough. Cold and shaken from the incident, she coughed up some water as air returned to her lungs. How had she survived? and how far away was she now? Up ahead she could hear the passing of cars and smell the smog of exhaust. A city? She washed ashore somewhere. Getting up she found herself naked, but that didn't seem to phase her, her hair was long enough to cover what needed not be seen. Crossing her arms over her chest to try and find warmth and comfort, she began to walk along the sandy shore. Dazed and confused, she was quite the sight to behold. Who was this strange girl and where had she come from? Questions even she couldn't answer for now. All she knew was her name, an other bits and pieces of information. Her amethyst eyes searched the area for something, anything. A sanctuary, but where? Her instincts were driving her now as her stomach growled in hunger, and her body shivered in coldness. Yet her eyes were ablaze with determination of one form or another.

Alex walked slowly down the beach, pausing at the waters edge to watch the sunrise. A soft crunching sound brought his attention away from it and to a woman who was walking down the beach in his direction. Any other time he would have just turned away again, but this time was different. He had never seem this woman before, which was odd in the little community that was in the area. As she came closer, he noticed her state of dress, or lack thereof, and the ways he held herself. "Are you okay?" he asked, walking toward her.

She heard a voice behind her suddenly as she paused where she was. Was she okay? Human curiosity and their response amused her to some extent. Even when it was obvious someone wasn't okay they'd still ask the obvious. Are you okay? Slowly she turned her head to face him, her hair falling over one eye as she simply stared at him a moment, "Will you help me?" she asked in a quiet tone.

Alex nodded, not even thinking twice about the gesture as he drew slowly closer to the woman. It didn't seem like a great idea to move too quickly around her for some reason. "What do you need?" he asked. She didn't seem like she was injured, but he couldn't be positive.

She needed a lot of things, but most of which she was sure the boy wouldn't believe. Instead she turned slowly to fully face him, "Sanctuary..." was all she said. In the distance there was the blaring of police sirens, which was a typical sound to most people. The woman's eyes suddenly widened as she looked around momentarily as if to hide. After a short assessment, she realized that she was safe, but it might be alarming that the simple sound startled her so.
Taking a step toward Alex, the wind gently brushed her hair from her face and exposed her a little bit more, "please, will you trust me and help me?" she said. Her expression seemed to suddenly soften in her frantic state and the real fear momentarily showed. Her body was still weak and exhausted from her near death experience. Where she was fine one minute, the next she suddenly felt weak. Her eyes rolled back as she suddenly fainted forward.

Alex lunged forward, catching the woman just before she hit the ground. He scooped her into his arms, noticing just how light and delicate she felt, she headed for his house just up the beach a ways. Once there, he laid her on the couch and waited for her to wake. If she didn't soon, he would call an ambulance.

She could see the men approaching her. They were coming closer and looked so threatening. Suddenly one came at her as she lunged forward. With a startled gasp, the woman sat up and looked around as if in a daze. Where had she been brought? who was this man? Her head ached as she suddenly groaned and healed her throbbing temples, "where am I..." she spoke with a thick accent. Her amethyst eyes scanned around carefully to access whether she was safe or not. It wasn't a harmful setting, but it wasn't necessarily safe either. Soon her eyes fell upon Alex who seemed to be waiting for something. Her perhaps?
"Who are you?" she asked tensing a bit as her fists clenched prepared to strike if he was a threat.

"My name is Alex," he said softly, backing away from her, "you...you asked for my help, then passed out. I figured...maybe you didn't want to go to a hospital?" She seemed a bit disoriented, but Alex hesitated to question her.

The woman blinked a moment but slowly let her guard down, "Alex...thank you" she said with a soft sigh. The woman began to move around a bit to observe her surroundings, and soon came up close to Alex, holding a picture she'd swiped along the way, "where are we?" she asked, meaning in relation to where she had been. Though, how was Alex to know this? A shiver went down the woman's spine as she glanced down to realize she was still naked and then back up at Alex. She didn't seem too bothered, but she asked anyways for politeness, "do you have anything I may wear?"

"Oh! O-of course, of course I do," Alex stammered. He probably thought he was a pervert or something right then, and he didn't blame her. H grabbed a pair of basketball shorts that he never used and a black tee-shirt from his dresser and brought them back to her. They would be over-sized, but at least they were clothing. "Here," he said, setting them on the coffee table next to the couch, "you can change in here. I'll be in the kitchen. Just...just come get me when you're ready. Or just holler, if that's easier. Whatever..." he babbled as he backed into the kitchen. He finally shut up and went to sit and wait at the kitchen table.

The woman watched Alex as he stammered and set the clothes down ont he coffee table next to the couch. A faint smile actually curled on her lips as amusement sparkled in her eyes. Turning her head she followed his movements. When he'd disappeared into the kitchen she turned and put on the clothing. The clothes were a little big, but they did the trick. Her hair kept falling into her face, so she tore a strip from the bottom of the shirt, making it a bit of a belly shirt, and tied her hair back with it. Stretching some, she glanced out the window momentarily and then moved toward the kitchen, "do you have anything I can eat?" she said leaning into the doorway some and then walking toward the table. She seemed ready to make herself quite comfortable in his little place. Well, for now she was safe. They didn't know how far her body had drifted from the facility. From her judgment she figured she'd only drifted a few miles, but still.

"Um," he turned and looked at the woman, blushing. "Yeah, there's, um, some stuff in the fridge and in the cupboards. Help yourself to whatever you find. I haven't been grocery shopping in awhile..." he trailed off. "Um...what's your name, by the way?" he asked, realizing that he had brought this woman into his home, let her wear his clothing, and he still didn't know her name.
