Basically, I want it to be able to run Fruity Loops well.. preferably 8 since that's the latest I've worked with and that's what's out. But, I dont know what kind of laptop to get. I'm pretty ignorant about this and the last person I know who ran it had a dell. I have a freind who can build me a laptop but I dont know what all I need, either. Help, if you can!

Most modern laptops could run Fruity Loops well. Alienware does have the best overall hardware, but it is horribly overpriced. I recommend you get a media focused Asus, that should do you fine.

asus is pretty good. My friend used to run a business where they built laptops and computers and he and his partner used alot of components and base systems from them (they also used to network buildings...and i am trying to convince him to do this again, and bring me in for the physical work, as well as anything else that needs doing, i would make a hella lot more than i do now)
