I was driving to my mom's house on a main road in Westerville, Oh. The turkeys were walking on the sidewalk. I stopped to take pictures. I was able to get very close the last two pictures I was on the opposite side of the side walk. I could have reached out and touched them. (I'm not that stupid unfortunately or you would have had a more intersting story.) This brings me to believe that we have over grown WAY to much. I knew we had, but I didn't think a wild animal would wonder this far from any forest.

i think it's dangerous for us and the animals. last year a bobcat was taking a nap in my driveway eek it was cool to see a live bobcat that close, but still it was scary. (no i didn't walk up to it, you coud see it from my window). and then just a month or so ago a little fawn wandered through my front yard, it was so adorable (i watched it for about 2 solid minutes before it ran off), but i didn't see it's mother anywhere sad i hope that she had just gone on ahead. - and i don't live near a heavily wooded area, its just apartments, houses and a logging farm, which is sadly running low on trees sad
those pix are amazing though, it's crazy that they'd let you get that close to them, turkeys are mean xp

The funny thing is they DIDN'T let me get that close. THEY came to ME! O_O Yeah. I stayed in the same spot the whole time to take those pictures. They just kept walking closer to me. The first picture there, one of the toms had just ruffled his feathers up. I was so hoping to get the shot. No digi cameras suck for that. I need to fix up everything on it.

Cool! We often have swans visit the huge pond in our backyard, and they don't like to be messed with. Once, I was trying to get pictures of them for an environmental photo contest, but they growled, flapped their wings, and chased me away! Swans are fast!

And they bite hard too! They are more common then wild turkey. It's sad to have animals use to humans at all. What do you think could be done to reduce the spread of our species?

Aside from killing all the unnecessary criminals and stupid people( I'm not saying kill the mentally challenged they turn out to be smarter then anyone thinks) I mean the jocks that knock up the whole cheer leading team and can't do simple math The world DOESN'T NEED sports they are the stupidest form of entertainment

Isn't that why they made the military? To kill off all the jocks and keep the smart one's safe away from enemy lines?

Well, seeings how westerville runs in a continuous line all the way up to sunbury now, I'm not surprised.
There was an article about toms in michigan attacking postal workers.

Woah. I've heard some of the shop keeps around Westerville say it's not common to see the turkeys behind the shops. That was the first time I had seen them. We are taking all of the room.

In the San Francisco Bay Area we have mountain lion warnings all over the parks and in various "human habitats" near the hills here. I even see red-tail hawks flying around near downtown San Jose! There's just too many people, and not enough space on this planet to keep up with the human reproduction rate. As it is, human expansion has put food animals as common as tuna into extinction territory. sweatdrop
