News on Book 7
If you have any links to news about the book, please post it in the thread <3 I will happily put it in this post as long as it's legit.
Squashed Rumors
If you hear any rumors that you'd like to confirm or deny, please post away! Any squashed rumors will be posted here.
Rumor: The seventh book will be called, "Harry Potter and the Jewels of Gryffindor".
Debunked: It's not on JKR's site. If she really had decided on the title, it would have been all over the news.

Questions to be answered in Book 7Here will be a list of the "questions" that will/should be answered in the final installment of Harry Potter. These can come from ANY of the books, and are simply here for discussion and speculation. Since there are six books, I will need some of you to volunteer to help me go through and find ALL the things to be theorized that haven't been answered in the already existing books.Questions this big will most likely have seperate threads. Those threads will be linked here.
To volunteer: PM me. Saying that you would like to help. I'll PM you back with a list of chapters you can look through. PLEASE write down whatever questions you find, and PM them back to me in this format:Format Question/ Location/ Whoever found it "Question" - The question to be answered.
"Location" - The location of the source of the question. As in which book it's in, possibly chapter and maybe even page.
"Whoever found it" - The user who found it. As in, your username.Example Is Snape good or evil?/ Half-Blood Prince/ Everyone Got it? If you have any questions, please post them here. ;B

JK Rowling's World Book Day Chat, March 4, 2004 MauraEllen: Did the debt Wormtail has to Harry carry over to Voldemort when he sacrificed his arm to restore his body? JK Rowling replies -> No. Can't say any more than that! So, Wormtail's life debt didn't pass over to Voldemort when he used Harry's blood and Wormtail's hand during the piece of Dark Magic to get a body after the effective use of a Horcrux, apparently. A theory I thought of earlier this week is that if Voldemort died, would he come back as a ghost since he's so scared of death? A question I would have then is if ghosts can use wands or have their own brand of magic (i.e. houselves). My next question would be if Harry would be haunted until he died by a pyschotic ghost.

I don't think they can use wands, because then Nick could use magic to blast his head off entirely. Also, if they did have their own brand of magic, they haven't been making use of it. I know Peeves can touch solid objects (he can throw them around). That brings about the question of whether or not each ghost has its own ability to do stuff. I would not be surprised if Volders became a ghost. However, I have a half-cooked theory that Harry might try to find some sort of curse or spell that would block Voldemort from doing so when/if he dies.

I'm not sure HOW they are different, but I remember reading somewhere that they are.

As you said, not the same thing as a ghost, but they're the same "physically". I think sweatdrop

Ghosts were once human but Peeves is just "an indestructible spirit of chaos, and solid enough to unscrew chandeliers, throw walking sticks and, yes, chew gum." (quote from Jo's site).

Questions to be answered in book 7: What is the deal with all the clocks and watches? Dumbledore's moons and planets one, Molly's family one, Ron's new one, ???? Is it just a coincidence and Jo likes clocks, or something else? / PS, CoS, HBP / Acidic Cynic.
What is the deal with all the mirrors? The Mirror of Erised, the "Tuck it in, scruffy" mirror, the Foe Glass, Sirius and James's double detention mirrors, ????? / PS, CoS, GoF, HBP / Acidic Cynic
I know they're weird questions but I really want to know. Clocks and mirrors...

Well, for all of JKR's saying no, there seems to be a lot of evidence (ok, two pieces) that Dumbledore and Ron are the same people with time travel help. The same watch and similar hair color seem to blur it up. But after Ron got practically the same watch, I've been wondering what does that watch do? Any special ablilties and/or functions?
I find it interesting that 6 Order members showed up for the DoM fight, and then Bellatrix said half the Order. Even though we have a list of living members that has more than 12 people. Maybe it's just a watch and I've been hit with Acme anvils one too many times.
