Alot of amature roleplayers on the net start out posting nothing more then a simple action or two.

"Mario jumped on the gomba" or "Samus shot her gun at the space pirate"

That sort of stuff is fine at first, but the problem is that it's very shallow since it lacks any sort of detail, and can be furstrating for more vetrian rpers like myself to deal with since not only does it leave us with little ideas to bounce our own posts off, but it can make the pace of the rp too fast for us to keep up with.

Adding depth can actually be quite simple and dosn't nessiarily have to take a lot of time depending on what you're going for.

A single line can be turned into an entire paragraph if you start to describe how your character is thinking and feeling as the preform an action. Or you could simply add more detail into how an action is being preformed to get better results.

"Darn you pirate scum, I'll send you to jail for what you've done today" thought Samus bitterly as she leveled her blaster arm at the fleeing form of her enermy and took careful aim being careful to make sure her weapon was set to stun. With a sharp snap sizzle a bolt of incandesent blue energy flung throught the air as she fired her gun.
