 Shamu was looking for some pretty colored seashells. It had been a while since she had gotten to associate with others. The sea pony had grown used to the life of isolation, but she didn't seem to mind it anymore. She knew eventually down the road she would get a friend or one day perhaps a lover. The dark colored sea pony smiled at the thought. How nice it would be.

Bren puttered around, looking at shiny rocks. "Oh, Hi!"

Shamu looked up from collecting her seashells only to spot a familiar face. "Bren...is that you?" She hadn't seen him for a while since she was a child. It had seemed a long time, but yet he still seemed the same the way he was back then. She dropped her shells before swimming over to him. "Oh it is you! Silly me! I've just haven't been myself lately." She lightly giggled before trying to give him a hug with her fins in a greeting fashion. "How's it been for you?"

Shamu thought it over for a second. "Well...I've been good. Although I have been on my own most of the time since I'm the only one in my herd that lives in the water." She shrugged. "At first I was sad and disappointed about it, but now that I look at it it's not as bad as it seems. I mean Celestia talks to me every now and then on the shore." She paused. "So what are you up to today?"

Shamu smiled back. "Oh I see. The scenery is always good." She paused for a moment. "Oh! Have you ever seen the deep valley in the ocean? It's really huge! They say bigger sea creatures live there, but yet I don't know if that's true or a rumor."

Shamu cocked her head to the side. "Hmm...not really. Although I wouldn't mind seeing." She then turned around to pick up the shells she dropped before returning them to the seashell. Shamu swam back towards Bren. "Would you like to go see the place? I think it's north of here."

"Sure! Might as well do something fun today, right?" He grinned and turned toward the north, ready to go.

Shamu nodded her head. "Got that right." She then took off swimming towards the north hopping to find the spot where she had heard rumors of. While she was swimming she couldn't help but have many thoughts rush through her head. "Bren..." She paused for a bit. "Did you ever get to know who your family was?"

"Not my real one. I have one that I made though. I have a father named Kinetar and a little brother named Ching Yi. He's an earth pony. Watching over him is going to take a lot of extra work." Bren smiled, fondly thinking of his family. "Why?"

Shamu was a bit sad for an instant, but didn't show it since she was smiling. "I don't know. I just wondered. Although that must be nice to have them around." She chuckled. "The only pony who ever talks to me is Celestia. I'm just glad her brother doesn't come around often, but then again he has a good heart deep inside." She turned to him again. "I'm not annoying you with all this am I?"

"Not really. It's good to listen to others." Bren smiled back, wiggling around some kelp that stretched up from the sea floor.

Shamu shrugged. "Alright...if you say so." She eventually reached the pit. "Well...here we are." She looked down into the ravine. "I can't help but wonder what lives down there deeper."
