 It was a wonderful day in the Southern territory...hot and humid as usual, but not to the point of being unbearable. Of course, finding a nice spot near a waterfall, where the shade and the spray in the air kept things somewhat cooler.
Samantha had no complaints. She was rather fond of the heat, honestly, and it never seemed to bother her much. She wasn't so fond of the water, but a little in the air was fine. She was just a bit...furry...to be much comfortable with swimming, as all that fur got heavy and made her feel sluggish when wet. That, and it was hard for her to find many places, other than the South, where the water was warm enough for her. Most water sources felt too cold for swimming, even if drinking was fine.
Today found her lounging near said waterfall, reflecting on her most recent venture to the Neutral territory and the obnoxious pup that she'd found there. Or, to be more accurate, the obnoxious pup that had found HER.
When she realized that her tails had begun twitching in irritation, she shook her head and dispelled her thoughts, moving on to something more pleasant. This was a lovely day afterall and there was no point in ruining it for no reason.
Fate always had a way of doing that in time anyway.

 'Fresh' from his adventures further north and definitely not missing the snow...or all the violence and death-defying adventures...Warren was glad to return to the South for a much needed rest and some relaxation. The heat was a nice alternative after all the snow, even if Warren was a warm-natured Helix under all that fur. Maybe he could find a nice pool to go for a swim.
For now, he trotted along briskly, eyes glancing about at his home. He'd been traveling so much that it felt like a lifetime since he'd been here. Of course, it was still home, as it was always the place he'd come back to...eventually. The heat, the humidity, the trees and the wildlife...they all smelled so familiar, even after all this time.
Grinning in a very pup-like manner, Warren picked up the pace, spotting a fallen tree some distance away. Tail wagging, he started into a run, leaping into the air and easily clearing the trunk to come down to a graceful landing on--
--oh wait, there was a rather steep hillside on the other side of that tree. Whoops. He quickly tucked his paws as soon as he hit the ground with a grunt, minimizing damage as he began rolling down the hillside with little control over where he was going at this point. He started picking up speed, eyes closed as he crashed and rolled through the fallen brush and leaves on the slope.
Luckily, the ground leveled out not far ahead and the rolling orange Helix bounced and landed with an 'Oof!'. He shook his head, not sure at first if he'd actually stopped, then sighing in relief when he was sure. At least he'd landed on something soft, even if he was going to feel like he'd been mauled by a buffalo in the morning.

'#*$&?!? GET OFF OF ME, YOU FAT LUMMOX!'
Samantha swore and shouted, all while kicking and clawing at the dumb beast that had apparently fallen on her. It seemed that no matter where she found a nice place to lay, some idiotic male had to come along and attack her...or at least try to squish her to death. What was wrong with these morons? Perhaps she was just doomed to dealing with stupidity for the rest of her life.
Oh, deities of all, please no.
She finally managed to squirm free of the mass of orange and cream fur, and with a final kick, scrambled away and to her paws, snarling. Her tails whipped behind her in a fury and she curled her lips to expose pearly fangs to the sunlight. True, her foe was much bigger than her and normally, she wouldn't have even considered putting forth such a challenge.
However, she was pissed.

Warren blinked at the outburst of swearing coming from his stomach. It hadn't been THAT long since he'd eaten...it couldn't be that angry with him...or squirmy.
Oh wait, no...a pup. Whoops again. He pushed his weight up a bit to aid her escape, smirking slightly. Loud little thing, wasn't she? Least he didn't seem to have hurt her with his crash landing. Nothing permanent anyway, though you couldn't tell it from the way she was carrying on.
He stared at her display for a moment, still sprawled awkwardly on the ground. She had spirit, he'd give her that much. Even if she could probably do a better job of picking her battles. And so, chuckling, he gathered his paws and stood, shaking a collection of leaves, dirt, and twigs from his fluffy fur.
Warren plopped down on his haunches, grinning cheekily down at the snarling pup. How cute. She thought she looked scary.
'Hey, sorry about that, short stuff. No harm done though!' he exclaimed cheerily, reaching out with a large paw to ruffle her head fur.

Taken off guard by the odd response, Samantha blinked, her snarl dropping for a moment. Then, automatically, she growled again, snapping at the paw on her head. Unfortunately, all she managed to grab was a bit of fur in her teeth as the paw was pulled away. Hackles still raised at the stranger, she turned her head to the side, eyes still on him, to spit out the strands of fur.
'What's the matter with you, ya' big dope?!? You about killed me!' she snapped, irritable after being taken by surprise for the second time by an idiotic male. Granted, this one fell rather than attacked, but that was completely not the point. Apparently, she was letting her skills slip from lack of use lately and was only angry at herself for letting it happen.

Warren raised one eyebrow in amusement, shaking his withdrawn paw minus a few bits of fur. Feisty little thing, wasn't she? 'Hey, I said sorry about the whole falling thing, kiddo. Though, you seem rather lively for being half-dead and all,' he responded with an amused grin.
'As for what's wrong with me,' he continued idly, glancing around, 'nothing that a little time back here in the South can't fix! Might even go for a swim in a bit. Looks like you found a nice swimming hole here!' He eyed the churning water in the pool with a grin, tail swishing behind him.

An eyetwitch and a series of blinks soon followed.
Kiddo?!? Who the heck was this guy? Granted, he didn't seem to mean Samantha harm, or intend on picking a fight, like Tsuki had. However, that didn't mean it wasn't all a trick of some sort. Maybe he was trying to lure her into dropping her guard before he attacked.
After a moment though, Samantha began doubting that this was the diabolical genius that she might have momentarily mistaken him for. Hackles slowly lowering, she narrowed her eyes at the stranger. Was it an act afterall? Or...
She started to straighten up, dropping her fighting stance to pull her paws closer to her body, then settle on her haunches. With an odd look on her face, she tilted her head and muttered, '...you hit your head on the way down that hill, didn't you?'
