Welcome to Issue 31 of TLOEM Newsletter. This is the new layout for the Newsletter, seeing as I've changed TLOEMs look once again.
The layout of the guild now uses art.
Gale has been busy, so some of the newsletters usual sections aren't here this time. They will be in the next one, hopefully.

Originally this newsletter and every other one was going to be posted by 'TLOEM Guild' mule. But who cares, srsly? It's a lame mule.
So I'll post this one and someone else will post the next one then someone else then whatever.

Also be sure to check out my Journal. It gives you a fact a day about TLOEM, Shaff and other members.

Moron of the Month for March 2009 is...
User Image
Dragn Breth II!
Dragn has been an active member of TLOEM since it was called A Nice Gaia Exists.
It's about time an old member won again. Dragn was originally called just Dragn Breth when he joined,
but he was banned. He once quit TLOEM... by accident. He's liked by everyone, and anyone who doesn't like him fails.
I actually pretend to hate Dragn throughout the guild, but I actually kind of like him.
Congratulations, Dragn. I hope you stay until the end.

Seeing as StationWagon's article was a little short, and the Newsletter is missing some articles I decided to actually list some of our post counts.

Your almighty leader Shaff has... 18662 posts!? Seriously? WTF?
Your almighty vice-leader Hippie Bane has... 7420 posts.
Your almighty MotM Artist Teases has... 154 posts. Lol, you got banned a lot.
Your almighty Main Editor of the Newsletter Gale-Chan has 2775 posts. That it? You been banned before or sumthin? Probably.
The Censorship Fairy is another person who has been banned and he is catching up with Gale with 2591 posts.
Psywing has the huge post count of 7579. Which is fantastic for a 08 member.
StationWagon isn't far behind with 6716 posts and Dragn Breth II has 5034, which is pretty good for a dude who accidently with the guild.
isn't active enough and has 3183 posts. fu emo. D;<
Mikalak the Strange is just some mule. D;<
Detective Mortalis has been abandoned. D;<
Aimless Shadow has some posts too.
And Senti-du-Bon has 15 posts.
And finally, Peppermint Oreo is loli asian.

Gale: 'Sup my morons? I'm here with this month's interview Superior Hannah Face! So, tell us about you, why you change your account Golly?
Hannah: I blame the soulbound sashes.
When I realized that Golly was an '07 account, it upset me, so I did some digging, and found my old account and somehow remembered my old password, and ta-da! '04 sash!
Gale: Ah cool, I know how that is. And how you get to this here TLOEM?
Hannah: Shaff saw me post some smart a** reply in the GCD, and decided to compliment me on my pineapple hat, which he accidentally called a "pumpkin" hat.

He's fruit-confused.

...Are pumpkins fruit?

Anyways, we talked back and forth for awhile, before he decided to invite me to his guild. I was skeptical about joining, but you people ended up being pretty chill.
Gale: I know, aren't we just one HELL of a good bunch? Now to your times in TLOEM, any memorable moments or people?
Hannah: Well, it seems like drama of some sort is always going on somewhere in TLOEM, which sometimes is frustrating, but hey, at least we're never bored.

As far as memorable people goes...

What the ******** ever happened to sars attacks?
Gale: Oh, she got an awesome life with her famous rocker boyfriend, she comes and goes whenever she remembers the internet still exists. And what about taking it to the next level? Like other networks except Gaia, how cool do you think it is that we are able to move back and forth?
Hannah: You mean like the TLOEM website that Shaff keeps pushing? I think that's kind of silly. I have several circles of friends on Gaia, and having them all accessible from one website is handy. Whereas if I had to go to a different site to talk to you guys, well, I probably wouldn't remember to do so as often.

But if you're talking about how a lot of guild members are friends on msn, facebook, myspace, etc, I think that's great!
Gale: You have a facebook and I don't have you as my friend? Do you not love me that much or something?
Hannah: You must not have been online the day when everyone was posting their full names so we could add each other on facebook.

But yeah, we need to be facebook friends. EVERYONE needs to be my facebook friend. Hannah Rae O'Connell, man. Add me.
Gale: This sounds like a shout out and you know what that means?
Hannah: ...I'm an attention whore and I want to be able to facebook stalk all of my TLOEM friends?
Gale: Maybe, but notreally, right now it means this interview is over, so I hope everyone took their time to read this or else they'll be missing out on some awesome friend, see you all next issue in Interview with a Moron!
Hannah: Bye guys!

This is my new article, Shaff's Picks.
I'll select Games, Music, Films and TV Shows as my pick of the Newsletter.
You should check them out.

Music //
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Invaders Must Die is the new album by The Prodigy.
Every track I've heard off of it is awesome. I'm still currently listening to it though.
It was released in February and reached #1 in four different countries.
It also reached #3 on the U.S. Billboard Top Independent Albums. It was released in the US in early March.
It's a really good album and both music videos off of this album I've seen on TV are both almost as awesome as the songs.
Check out the first track off the album which is also the title of the album.
Invaders Must Die

TV Show //
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Earlier this week a new TV show had started. I checked it out the day after it premiered in the US.
The show is called 'Castle', starring Nathan Fillion from Firefly and Buffy the Vampire Slayer
who plays Richard Castle who is a blah blah blah wikipedia
When I started watching it I at first thought "This sounds like Bones too much."
It was nothing like Bones and was an awesome beginning to a series.
I'll probably watch this weekly now!
CHECK THAT s**t OUT!

--Not So Bad--

Tragedy tragedy,
Woe And tragedy.

The worlds like a doll,
Old and raggedy.

Conflict conflict,
Hate and conflict.

The people like monsters,
No one can constrict

Hope hope
Chance and hope

But some go beyond,
in the grandest scope.

Wonderful wonderful,
Tranquil and wonderful.

as long as there's balance,
the world remains beautiful.

I suppose it's not so bad.

HELLO, HEDONISTS. I am here once again to force some form of educational (but most likely useless in daily life) fact into your tiny, pea brains. Listen closely now, 'cause it's likely that you'll get tested on this in World History class at school.

KSO, I'm sure many of you have heard of the Asian Sea Trading Network. You haven't? Idio--I mean, that's too bad.

arrow The Asian Sea Trading Network was a peaceful mode of trade between Africa, the Middle East, and most of Asia including China, Japan, and the spice islands. After the Ottoman Empire closed off Europe from the Asian culture, this network was left to prosper and thrive for many years. The network had no formal control, because all trading was needs-based. There were various items, such as paper, glass, ivory, and specific spices that were exchanged between peoples on a completely fair and equal basis.

arrow The Asian Network was divided into 3 sections: the Arab zone, the Indian zone, and the Chinese zone. The Arab zone, extending from the head of the Red Sea to the Persian Gulf, mostly exported things like tapestries, glass and carpets, as well as ivory that was taken from Africa. The Indian zone, including India, Malaka, spice islands, and Pegu, mainly exported cotton textiles, gems, pottery, and pepper. The Chinese zone, including the East Indies, Australia, Japan, China, and some other spice islands, mainly exported paper, silk, porcelain, and a very large variety of spices (and tea too of course. Tea originated in China and was not brought illegally by the British to be grown in India until much later). Because no area had everything that people needed, these cultures became reliant on those around them and felt no need for warfare.

arrow Because there was no conflict that arose from this form of free-trade, the network traders and countries did not have large military bases, navies, or forms of protection that were common in the feudal Europe. There were only a few cannons stored on ships in order to deter pirates that often attempted to steal from the rich merchants.

arrow As wonderful as this was for the Asians, this lack of entire control and physical might made it all too easy for the Europeans to completely disrupt the trade. The Portuguese, who were the first Europeans to successfully infiltrate this trade network, used their superior weapons technology to ransack the lands and get monopolies on certain items by holding peoples at gunpoint and enforcing their own laws. A system of tributes was set up and high taxes were levied so that the Europeans could fully benefit off the labor of the Asians.

I'd go on to explain the succession of colonization in the Eastern World, but I think this is enough for today.

I HOPE YOU LEARNED SOMETHING HERE TODAY.
