well don't listen to them. there is a possiblity mermaids exist. i'm not surprised why they like to hide. everyone knows about them so they want to lay low before they're strapped to an experiment table.
i don't think your crazy. maybe you did see a mermaid, you're so lucky i've never got a glimpse of a mermaid.

mermaids? i want to see one.
i saw an article on the web saying they saw a mermaid blah blah.. the article says the mermaid has red eyes! maybe that mermaid has sore eyes? eek (kidding!)

i don' think i'll be able to see a mermaid. the bahamas might be hard for them to be seen by land dwellers , water close to shore is too clear and shallow. plus some bahamians can be rude and easily expose mysterious creatures.

What people don't understand is that mermaids aren't exactly going to look like humans with tails. You may have saw a large fish. No one really knows. Just don't expect the mermaid to be completely human like. Besides some features it might not look anything like us.

You know, I feel really bad for mermaids if they DO exist. If I was a mermaid, I would hide myself too, exept I'd maybe show myself in front of children or teens whom I know they won't "tell a scientist or something". If a human saw me and I was a mermaid, they would probably chase me to the worlds' end to make examinations and experiments on me.

I know what I would do if I was a Merman. I would want to explore some pretty deep waters. The chance of someone actually spotting me would be slim to none. Unique abilities are sometimes associated with such creatures. I would get pretty bored with that. Creating a dilemma as to what I would actually do with my time. I would probably end up getting caught. In my dreams, I fly around this town. Abusing the hell out of my powers. So I don't think it would be much different being a merman.
