So this thread is for those of us who do mixing on the computer of any kind.
I figure we can use it as a place for us to come and swap loops/samples. Also we can give links for good websites that have royalty-free loops/samples, pay sites and free sites are both acceptable.

so first one i want to give everyone is
www.acidplanet.com
It is run by sony, and they have some awesome loops packages they sell on here.
ALSO (and this is the important part) they give out what they call 8 packs. it is a bundle of 8 (or more) royalty-free loops for download FOR FREE! They have a new one up WEEKLY! so that is a nice way to fatten up the loop collection for no cost. I go there every week religiously.
They also have a free version of acid pro you can download on this page.
This site is also a networking site for musicians, you just have to create a profile.
HAPPY MIXING!

Well, i don't have any, but i can probably point you in a good direction with my next link. http://www.moviewavs.com/they have clips from lots of movies, cartoons and tvshows in wav, mp3 and m4r format. The movies they don't have they at least have links to places that do. also check out their link partner http://www.reelwavs.com/the only problem is once in a while there is a hum in a wav file...but i will also give you a solution for that too! go here http://www.bestshareware.net/wavhum.htmand download the wavhum program it is such a simple program to use, the only thing i would suggest, is when using the slide to change the setting, start small, because such small changes make a huge difference

Well... you could check out dell..
I found out if you go to the business side you can get the same exact laptops as you can get on the home side for cheaper
my laptop is crappin the bed, so i just bought one there. It isn't exactly what i want, but will work for what i need it to, and counting shipping, it only cost me about 450 bucks. But they have some as cheap as like 300 bucks
also..they have a credit plan....just my credit sucks

I want one that wont glitch up when I run music programs. Of course, ripping synths helps with that....but I dont have to rip every synth to a wave, you know? Yet, an affordable one.

Well...that comes down to the system...
if you go for dell, (remember, go to the business part of the website, seeing where ya have a business wink , it will save you money ) then make sure you get one of the ones that is good for media, especially audio...their xps systems are better, and some are relatively pleasing price wise.
you could check out asus, but i am not as knowledged on their stuff, also, acer is pretty good
but as of late, i know the most about dell... which is funny cuz i used to dislike them, but nowadays, for a relatively cheap and pretty reliable system, they are a good place to go

So, for royalty-free loops and stuff, check out the electronic music magazines mentioned in another thread in this category.

Sounds like good reasons to me, though, especially the business part!
