As dawn made it's slow way across the sky one lean figure walked slowly in the deeper part of the surf. It was hard at times to know where to be. Never before had the need to protect pulled Tidalwave from the water. When he left their new home both Crosscurrent and Fathom were sleeping. He figured the elves on land must be resting as well. A heavy sigh escaped him as the water lapped at his thighs and waist. Pushing the strip of midnight hair to one side he looked longingly at the treeline. He also hadn't expected to find himself so quickly connecting with some of these land elves let alone one being a glider. Maybe it was the longing for his own family that made him adopt the expectant Mother and the young wolfrider so swiftly. He understood Fathoms bitterness as well though. He didn't know of a pod that hadn't had someone they cared for snatched from them one way or another. Again his eyes scanned the treeline and he sighed. He knew exactly why he was walking there and it had little to do with protection but it was as good a reason as any.

The first light of dawn found Peyote a bit away from the cove, a gathering basket on one hip. She was walking the beach in search of items in the sand, washed up by the waves, that would be useful or pretty or both. Eyes on the ground, she nearly missed Tidalwave, but when she did spot him, she smiled brightly and waved big. "Sweet water," she called out brightly, steps quickening to reach him.

The call and happy sounding voice made Tidalwave look. The slightest bit of disappointment touched his features before he smiled lightly saying in a low tone. "Thank you joyful one. Calm seas to you as well." A hand lifting to wave back. "What brings you out so early in the morn?" He stopped walking as he waited for Pey to reach him.

"I am restless like the tide this day." His voice calm and even toned. His gaze shifting from the elfess to the vast deep then back to her once more. "Do take care along the waters edge though. Their is a small migrating pod of black and white slap tails passing through and they have been known to launch themselves up onto the shore to get a meal." Eyes gaze to the treeline once again then back to the water.

It's nice that Zayn is glancing occasionally at the treeline... For that is where Llune is hidden, though not purposefully, of course. Just past the first layer of trees, Llune has come across a patch of colorful mushrooms, which are likely edible, and has busied herself gathering them up into a basket. If Llune were to strain her ears, she just MIGHT be able to hear Peyote and Zayn talking... But the sound of the surf is currently drowning them out. Ah, well.

"Slap tails," Peyote questions, eyes noting how the wave dancer looks to the treeline every so often. A coy little smile graces her face before she turns it into a fake look of concern. "Do you see something in the trees," she asks in a piping little voice, hand coming up to her collarbones.

Blinking a moment he looks back to Pey then the trees, "Oh ummm no. No I didn't." Again his eyes move back to the water. "Unfortunately nothing is there worth looking at." His voice hushed. Soft as if to himself in an afterthought. "The slap tails are kind of fish that could swallow you without chewing if it so wished. At times you might see them breaking the surface, jumping from the water or just the tails as they dive, but remember what I said. They do sometimes come on shore a little ways to get something to eat." Turning back to Pey he touched her cheek lightly "You will be sure to remember and make sure everyone knows won't you? I would hate to see any of you lost to a hungry overgrown fish." Chuckling lightly he lets his hand drop to his side again.

Yep, just pickin' mushrooms. Uh-huh. That's right. There are quite a lot of them, so Llune fill her basket and looks about - still plenty more.
"Peyote!" she calls in the wrong direction (though it was where she last saw the desert flower), "Peyote! Come see!" Hopefully the pretty elfess will hear Llune's call, "My basket isn't big enough!"

Peyote giggled at Tidalwave, not really understanding what he was going on about. She brought her hand to her cheek where he was touching her as Llune's voice drifted from the forest. She looked over, then grabbed for Tidalwave's hand with her own as she called out, "Coming, Llune! My basket's empty!" To the wavedancer, she smiled, winked, and pulled him with her, "Come on! You can help us collect foodstuffs!"

Hearing the voice call from the woods made him look while lifting his head. Then his hand was grasped and off he went. Content to be pulled along by the smiling Peyote knowing they were going to the loveliest flower he had seen since the moon was rend asunder. His mind moving faster then he was it called softly to her alone. *Morning lovely sky flower. This day finds you well?* She had left him at thet party with the feeling of never seeing him again and it troubled him a great deal. He didn't want her to be upset he was there. So the send touched her mind like a breeze ready to be swept away.

Llune respondeon the to the send, the surprise apparent - she had not known Tidalwave was on the beach - but still warm and friendly, **Clear skies to you as well my friend!**
"Here, over here!" she called, so that Peyote and Tidalwave could find her in the treeline. Her basket was already overflowing with various foodstuffs, but mostly mushrooms.

As the send touches his mind he smiles. As Llune comes into site Tidalwave smiles wider. Seeing how busy she is gathering and how fruitful her search was. Stooping down he looks at the plant she is pulling from the ground. Tugging one free he gives it a sniff then gives Llune a look of doubt. "It smells like dirt." He wipes it off a bit then pops the little fungus in his mouth. The roll of his eyes and the face that he makes clearly shows this isn't on of his favorite items to eat. Still he does not spit it out but finishes it and swallows. Chuckling lightly he say, "That was unpleasant."

Llune would have stopped Zayn, not particularly caring for the flavor of raw mushrooms herself, but he was too fast to pop the item in his mouth.
"Oh, dear..." she murmurs, a smile playing across her features, "They're much better when you cook them with other seasonings and vegatables..." she mentions, setting her basket down and reaching toward Peyote's basket, "And in stews as well..."

Peyote immediately set to collecting more mushrooms, smiling brightly and butting herself into the spoken conversation without preamble. "Some used to grow in the very dark dank caves above Sorrow's End. We'd go collecting them and i loved to skewer them and roast them with curvetusk meat. I've heard that some elves can make wine out of them, and I suppose it could work. They seem really dry and tough raw, but when you cook them they give off so much juice.. Hmm... I wonder," she rambles, voice trailing off as she pauses in her collection to study a fat little mushroom in her fingertips. stare
