All info: http://drphil.com/shows/show/606/

Caitlin, a member of the colorguard in her hometown, was abducted and murdered by her mother's ex boyfriend. Now, my attention was first caught by the fact that she was a member of a colorguard that was stolen on her way home from practice, but there's a lot more to this than colorguard.

How can people... do that?

So here's a chance to talk about something serious, if anyone is interested.

oh well, that girl that went missing in aruba.....she was like on the dance team, but also did color guard.

they were showing home video of her twirling and i was like

"awww. dont let her be dead!"

like one of the piccolos said (she was a former guard girl) "guard girls always look out for one another......"

omg! wow. what is this the year of the dead color guard people. Because in i think that its texas or illinois (sp?) that a group of color guard members were hit by a semi truck on the way home from a color guard competition, only 5 of the 15 survived and they arent in a very good condition. It was really sad when our team found out that now our band is really protective of us.

It really does put into perspective how vulnerable we really are. Not just as colorguard members, either, but as people.

Wow... I'm not really sure how to react on this one. It's a horrible thing that happened to that girl and I can only imagine how hard it must be for her family and her squad.

Perhaps this isn't the right place to debate this, but how could they let that man out the DAY after he kidnapped a woman at gunpoint?!?!

He didn't actually hurt the woman, only threatened her and the law is poorly written to think this means nothing bad could possibly happen. I think it is really awful. How can it be so poorly written?

Even if he didn't hurt her. He had a kidnap kit... he held her at gunpoint... he clearly showed intent and capability. Also if he'd packed a kit he shows that he had planned it and dwelled on it for a long period of time. It wasn't just some spur of the moment thing, he was obsessed with her and virtually stalking her.

I know. I agree. I think it's asinine how the law pans out.
