Merlile trotted through the tall grass, content with the area he found himself in. The wind blew softly and the rain clouds shaded him from the bright noonday sun. It sprinkled on and off, leaving the ground soft and springy under his hooves as he pranced about. The clouds rumbled and he nipped at a butterfly resting on some grass.
"You should go hide." He whispered as it fluttered away towards the trees. He sighed as he stared at the mixture of orange and yellow painting the tree tops, remembering that soon the snow would come and he'd have to find shelter somewhere.

Dapple had been close by the river for days.Whishing the snow would pass by quickly,then summer would come.She loved summer with a passion.It was her favorite time of year.Dapple ran as fast as she could through the feilds.Whinning loudly she smiled.Noticeing a stallion standing near some trees' she watched him.Passing by she wondered if he'd follow her,or call her out of the blue.

Merlile heard the whinny and looked around. He spotted a mare running along the stream. He stamped around and glanced around, checking to see if anyone else was with her. Seeing no one, he snorted and trotted towards the running mare and whinnied.
"Hello!" He called out, picking up his pace a bit before breaking into a run.

She noticed the stallion trumbling towards her.She started to run faster."Hello!"Dapple giggle lightly.She wanted to play a game with him.Maybe he'll catch up."I'm Dapple!Who are you?"She slowed down so he could catch up.

Merlile shook his head and sped up. "My name is Merlile! You can call me Merl, though." He called, noticing that she was slowing just enough for him to catch up. "It's a nice day, isn't it?" He asked jokingly, tossing his head up at the cloudy skies, managing to catch up. He ran beside her, about five feet apart.

She smiled brightly and giggled."Nice to meet you."She kept running beside him."It is a very nice day.I'm wishing it was summer,I hate winter."Dapple watched him.Looking up to the skys she started to slow so she wouldn't trip.

"The snow does complicate things." He said, shaking his mane "But you've got to work with what you're given. Just keep looking to the future, cause summer will always come after winter."

"Mhm."She listened to him."Your right.Completely right."She smiled at him.He was something different.Different than the weirdo's in her herd."So,what have you been up to?"

"Traveling. It's all I really do... but since winter's on it's way been looking for a place to rest for the time." He smiled back at her. She had a pretty smile. "It's one of the perks of not having a herd. What about you?"

"Wow.You should show me around sometime."She listened to him a little.She noticed him watching her smile.Blushing a little she looked to the ground."Herd,4 of us,counting me is 5."Listening a bit more she looked to him."Why don't you come stay with my herd,So you don't have to be alone."Stopping she starred at him.She didn't want him to be alone and by himself.

"Maybe in the spring." He said, noticing her blush and the way she acted. He chuckled inwardly and nodded. "You guys are pretty small... maybe I'll take you up on that offer. He looked back at her, a smile still on his face. "That is very kind of you."

Dapple smiled lightly at him her mane covering her eyes."mhm.We are.Its not too crowded either."Giggleing lighty Dapply moved her mane from her face and watched him.Tilting her head a bit she blinked a couple times."Are you laughing at me because I'm blushing!?"She laughed."How silly!"
