Pholos moved through the land at a comftorable pace. Not trying to be loud or quiet, he personality didn't care who heard him. He wasn't hiding from anyone. His expression was blank, yet he was thinking. 'Why is it that everyone runs away from me?' He asked himself. He'd recently met a female who was traveling with her own pup and he ran into her. She was nice and stuff but of course he wouldn't make any effort to comminucate and be friendly. He was jsut too cold, and didn't want to be aronud anyone most of the time. Shaking his brown head he kept moving, in a grumpy mood.

Normally, she wouldn't have been so careless. However, so much worry and stress, in addition to a run-in with a couple pups, had left Halona harried and exhausted. Her furred form lay motionless by the riverside, her mind far away in the land of dreams.
Her sleep had been restful for the most part. Had been. Her dreams turned in another direction with a shift of the wind. Tall mountains rose towards the sky and overhead, a bird swooped low before soaring upward again, disappearing into the sun. The female glanced around her, sensing nothing strange at first...until the ground beneath her paws began to tremble. At first, she thought it was her paws...but she cast that misconception aside as the tremble turned to a rumble, soon also reaching her ears. Cracking sounds...that rumble...
She let out a startled bark as the beasts emerged from the forest, great hairy things with horns and hooves...she thought they were called 'buffalo' or something like that. Whatever they were, they were heading straight for her with no apparent intentions to slow down.
She couldn't cower from this threat. It was time to take to her paws...and so she did. Fleeing with the speed born from both fear and practice, Halona was a blur against the green foliage, her heart pounding in her ears during her panicked flight. No matter which direction she fled, the beasts seemed to follow...closing in...threatening to trample her beneath their pounding hooves...
She awoke with a start, nearly leaping to her feet, but managing only an awkward, sprawled position. Her eyes were wide with fear, breath coming heavy as she struggled to calm herself. Where...no, not here...they weren't real...only a dream...
She was starting to relax when a scent on the wind caused her to tense once more. Frozen, she used only her ears, trying to pinpoint the source of this new threat. A Helix...somewhere nearby...a male...
Stifling a soft whine, she wondered if she held still enough, the other would pass by and leave her alone...

The bark colored male moved towards the water cource he could hear, Paying no atention to the smell of another helix. He didn't care, they could kill him if they wanted and it wouldn't matter, he had no family of friends to speak of so he wouldn't be a great loss to anyone. Comming out of the brush he spotted the other helix down the bank a little bit. It was a female, colored similar to him minuse his strange markings.
He looked away and flopped down by the bank letting his tail be carried by the current slightly. His nose also at the edge of the bank, not wanting to move. He radiated no sense of danger, if that other helix wanted she could come up and sit on him and he wouldn't make any motion to move. There was no point to.

Halona was nearly shaking...yet she didn't run. For some reason, the other Helix had caught her attention. Her nightmare was only starting to fade, but she remembered enough to realize that some of the same signs that she'd seen were depicted on the male Helix's coat.
Whether that meant she was supposed to meet him to prevent some disaster...or whether he would prove to be a disaster for her, she could not say. It was an alarming prospect, but rather than risk fate, she'd hold her position here for now. If need be, she could keep enough of a distance to run if she had to. So, cautiously, she tried to near the other Helix, though she had to halt to steel herself and her resolve once or twice.
She'd managed to talk to the pups that time and the encounter led her to believe that one day, with work, she might be able to lead a semi-normal life around other Helixes.
For now, she'd settle for having a normal conversation with one that didn't end with her being chased from the territory for being 'evil' or 'possessed'.
She neared the male hesitantly, her paws soft and silent on the river bank. The male's markings were clearer up close and the sight of the buffalo made Halona's determination wane for a moment. No, she was going to do this...
'Greetings,' she murmured, her voice quite a bit softer than she'd intended. Not the most interesting start to a conversation either...but she was new to this.

Pholos picked his head up and glanced over his shoulder towards the brown female. She has a strange wave like marking on one of her paws, but her soft yet fearful eyes caught more of his attention.
Sitting up kinda lazily, he bowed to her, showing respect to a female. One whole side of his body was covered in sand and mud, and there was a frog on his head now.
"Hello" He said in a strong and powerful voice, that almost suprised him. It had been a long time since he'd heard himself speak.
