Departing from Zahina's grasps, a new set of lions has emerged. Drawing from a different, darker god's energy, Da'lin Lions have firmly placed themselves on the map finally, after years of struggling to just stay alive. Their god may be some things, but he values survival of the fittest above all else.
Da'Lin was part of a council once, a council of gods where the fate of mortals were usually determined. After so much cruelty and malice from him however, frightened the other gods, he was cast out, and given no part of the world to look after. Floating around in the celestial plane, he searched for a weakness, something to get them back. Zahina, head of the council, was his first choice. He never thought it possible, but the lions did turn eventually. Frantic, attempts to get them back by Zahina were thwarted, and a new flavour of lion was born.
Lions that follow Da'Lin have extremely distinctive features, making them prime targets, and unable to mingle much at all with normal lions. There are varying degrees of behaviors, but they range at best from neutral to extremely evil. (neutral being out for themselves, if it isn't too much trouble) They have distinctive horns, and much larger claws, as Da'Lin's are prone to fighting each other much more than normal Zahina Lions.
This isn't to say that a Da'Lin can't jump ship and rejoin Zahina, but the chances of it are very unlikely, and the side effects of such an action are usually extremely painful, and not worth the trouble.
Inhabiting the slopes of a slumbering Volcano, the daily life of the lions not in prides is sketchy at best. Without the protection of a pride, they will soon no longer survive. This being said, Prides are mandatory for these creatures. Da'Lin created it that way, so they couldn't be easily swayed back to the lighter side of things.
This is where the story ends. These are the very first of the Da'Lin lions to make it to adulthood. They belong to one Pride, for now. Who knows what tricks Da'Lin may pull....
