So, this question is mostly just for readers of the novel, since it's not really relevant to the movie. Howl is from Wales and all, but is he from some version of Wales in the future?
Cars (or "carriages without horses", as Sophie put it XD), video games, television... all of these made an appearance when Howl, Michael, and Sophie traveled to Megan's house. Is Ingary just really behind the times, or is Howl's hometown existing in the future? Is there any explanation for this? Am I reading too much into things? Are the people of Wales just really savvy in the novel's world?
I found this a bit confusing, so I thought I'd ask if anyone knows what's going on with it.
