 Elphaba was trying to practice her magic. She was always mocked for being an outcast and not fitting in. Most of her life she got picked on so she had grown a bit bitter over the years. However, deep inside she was a nice sweetheart and would not normally lash out at others. She would tend to speak a bit gruff, but she never meant it in anger.

Quinn was away from his dad, the world didn't like the pair and he was becoming more independent with adulthood. Stalking through the underbrush for a squirrel the young male tried to pounce but missed. He chased the squirrel and pounced on it in front of a green female. "Hello" Quinn said nervously just noticing her and not used to females.

Elphaba was a bit startled at first. "What the?" She was a bit irritated at first, but when she saw it was another male fox, she switched her tone. "Oh....sorry about that...um...hi...how are you?" She was a bit embarrassed for her behavior and didn't know what to say at first since she had came across as mean.

"I'm sorry I was just trying to catch the squirrel" he said shuffling his paws as he was not used to being around females. "Hello" he said a little scared of the female fox who seemed irritated. The male knew he wasn't accepted and he didn't fit in with others so he was wary of them.

Elphaba looked up a bit sad. Great! Here she had gone and scared another fox. That so wasn't what she was trying to do and he seemed sorry himself. "Well...if you want it that badly." She pointed her magic wand at the squirrel before killing it. There you go." She sighed. "Look...I'm sorry for sounding mean..." The green fox looked away ashamed. "Um...here's your squirrel." She picked it up before putting it down in front of him. "My name is Elphaba..." She trailed off for a bit. "Most tend to pick on me so I'm a bit wary...I'm sorry."

Quinn was astonished by her ability to use, what was the word? Magic he thought of the only word to describe what he had seen. He saw that she wasn't as mean as the first words she uttered to him sounded. "I am Quinn" he said feeling bad for hurting the females feelings. "Your name is very pretty" he said desperately trying to cheer her up, he knew all to well how she felt being an outcast as he had had that feeling before. "I am the same way... me and my dad are outcasts so I was wary to I apologize" he said dipping his head respectfully to the magic fox.

Elphaba tried to cheer up a bit. "Well it's nice to meet you Quinn and thank you. I like your name too." She watched him a bit wondering why he wasn't scared of her being a witch. It was good he didn't know her too well so she could at least approach him. At first when she saw him bowing to her she was a bit confused. "No...it's alright. Honestly I don't believe that other foxes deserve to be treated like a stepping stone. What I don't like is scum that act like they are all powerful and think that they can use someone else as a tool."

Quinn was more curious on how this strange female could preform magic, he could see how others would tease her, because she was different. His whole life him and his dad have been spat upon and hated but Quinn had always took it all in stride. He saw she was uncomfortable and realized she wasn't used to being bowed to "I was raised to always bow to new people I meet" he explained as he had so many times before "My parent's always told me to take the high route and show everyone the utmost respect" he said trying to make her feel better.

Elphaba smiled a bit before lightly chuckling. "I'm sorry then. I should thank you for treating me so kindly." She was wondering why he was being so nice to her and not stuck up, but it didn't matter. He was a nice fox as it was. "Well I just have a dark family history and I really hate my dad for doing what he did to my mother."

"Most people mistake it for being sarcastic and I usually get spit on more" he said lightly ashamed of his openness with the female. He was happy to get it out but he was self conscious and didn't want her to think badly of him, she is pretty he thought to himself smiling. Snapping out of it and hearing about her family he said "I barely got to know my real family who always told me that, they where killed when I was a kit" he said looking down. "I was adopted by Gunnison who has had a similar past, he was confused by the bow to" she chuckled attempting to lighten the mood.

Elphaba lightly nuzzled him in a sympathetic way. "If it makes you feel any better my dad seduced my mom with a green potion. When she bore me I was the result of the potion." She paused. "I also have some problems. I used to bite anything insight when I was little and I can not take water at all. It burns my skin and stings. I think I have an allergy to it." She looked at him caringly. "I truly am sorry for your loss."

Quinn recoiled from the gentle nudge shocked that this female wasn't going to turn away yelling at him for being such an ignorant sarcastic fox. He blushed and was embarrassed by his reaction to the first nice touch from a female since his mother. "Wow" he said to the females story, it shocked him that her dad could do that to her mom. "I am also sorry, I could have never guessed" he said nuzzling her comfortingly.

Elphaba lightly shrugged. "Yeah...although I try to forget it most of the time since I don't want to be too burdened." She smiled at his attempt to comfort her. She was always spat upon for being different so she never really experienced others comfort. "I...uh...thanks...uh...for being understanding."

"Yes that is probably the only thing to do" he said "unless of course you want to talk about it to me" he bit his lip, he had never cared to much about others because no one cared about him. "Your welcome, thank you for being so understanding to" he said awkwardly but he meant it. He wanted to lighten the mood but he didn't know what to do so he just sat there hot faced and embarrassed at how stupid h must look.

Elphaba looked at the fox who she had just met with a bit of confusion. She was wondering for a moment why he seemed so worried about her, but she smiled a bit. "Well...I guess I could tell you, but if I got angry and negative would you mind? It's all because of my father."
