Ok this thread is for people who have RP related questions, and is also a place where you can bounce idea around with others concerning characters and RP's that you are thinking of making.

Was thinking about doing an FFIX play as the characters through the Squenix created storyline. Unoriginal I know, but it is such a great story that it would almost be worth it. anyone agree or disagree?

I've been tempted by a thought of FFVII story. It was at the start one reason to join this guild. wink

Well im haveing a lot of trouble nailing it down but at the same time I want an RP that goes through all the worlds of Final Fantasy. And I've only played VII X X-2 and XII and the kingdom hearts series so I don't have a good knowledge about the others. So I was thinking of putting up a thread where every can put there ideas and suggetions into it. I figure it will also promote activeity once the RP is actualy up.

Isn't that what that 2 part RP was until it crashed? It's a good idea, unless you're not a great GM, because that thing takes a ton of work to keep it from falling apart. I mean it kinda happens when you try putting things together that didn't start together. It's like Kingdom Hearts without a set storyline and everyone tries to do there own thing.

Mighty task you're planning. I didn't pay too much attention (or remember) the earlier game, but I'd say you better simplify your idea - especially if you haven't played all of the games. Too much material makes it a mess unless you're highly skilled GM.
I have arguments too. Every Square-Enix's game on itself is big. There is so much material and so grand storylines that it requires very much work to link somehow logically and even more to control all that at playing situation. Its easier to mix and link Disney stories, for those are classical and through and through familiar to all of us.
But I do like the idea. How about pinning it down to lesser options, to stay with those games you know? Don't take too much options if you don't have very clear vision of what you want of this game. But do tell more, just about those things you've been considering to have there?

We need more people anyways before we can do any decent RP's anyways. With all the people who were complaining you'd think more people would have been jumping in here already.

Well since I can't choose between the games im going to start a poll about which of the games people will like to RP in and than I'll make the RP around the game they choose. But it will be in the future where none of the main characters are there so that way it will be more original. But at the same time i'll still be open to suggestio this is the first RP i've made and I want it to be enjoyable for all.

Think of the storyline (or a story that happens know players about it or not) already. Just concept, no details first, then it will be easier later not to lose your sight on where you're going with your story and what you want players to experience. When this is clear to you start adding things.
One option is to send PM to either of us when you have something sketched and we ask tricky questions and help out so that you'll keep some secrets from players. wink

Porbably a Final Fantasy XII roleplay cuase that was a very pretty world. Also something is starting to come together.

I'm thinking maybe a FF type RP with no characters from any of the games would be quite fun. If anyone does make an RP like that I'd join as a dragoon.
