Kyle Raynor got rid of the GL weakness to yellow, after he learned that, the ring's only limitation was the wearer's imagination.

The ring used to be weak against wood. But that didn't make sense for the "Green" Lantern.

It was Alan Scott's ring that was weak against wood. It was changed to yellow with Hal Jordan. Which doesn't make a lot of sense either because yellow and blue make green.
