Lay of the landArchades

The Imperial City of Archades is the capital city of the Archadian Empire which rules over most of Ivalice. The modern city of Archades is built on the poor, and the ruins of older cities. There are only two ways into the city of Archades. The most common way is via airship. This method is patrolled for trouble by the Archadian Judges. The second way is up through the Sochen Temple, into old Archades and across the bridge into Archades proper.
Rabanastre

"Capital of Old Dalmasca, and before that, many other kingdoms stretching back into the storied history of the Galtean Peninsula. Rule by the Dalmascan royal family lasted for several hundred years before the city's fall to the Archadian Empire two years past. Now an Imperial territory. The story of the city's people is the story of three cultures, those of Valendia, Ordalia, and Kerwon, who bore trade goods along the many well-frequented routes leading to her welcoming gates. The town proper of Rabanastre is divided into four sections by the cardinal directions of the compass. The east and west are merchant districts, the streets lined with shops and stalls of every description. In the north, the streets widen into a large piazza facing the palace, and to the South can be found three gates leading beyond the city walls to the Dalmasca desert and Giza Plains. The aerodrome can be found in the western outskirts of town, surrounded by numerous privately operated airship docks. In the northwestern part of town stands a splendid cathedral built in the Galtean style, the bell of which, when rung, sounds through every hearth and home in the city."
Bhujerba

Bhujerba is located in the Sky Continent of Dorstonis, above the Naldoan Sea. A floating city-state, Bhujerba thrives solely on the export of magicite mined in the nearby Lhusu Mines. Originally founded by Moogles, who were the first pioneers of airship travel, Bhujerba became an airship docking port and expeditions discovered more magicite mines, increasing Bhujerba's revenue. During the age of the Galtean Alliance, House Ondore took over the administration and initiated a system to control the magicite mining activities; by closing exhausted mines to let the magicites recover and opening new mines elsewhere. This guarantees continuous production of magicite. It is rumored that should the magicite supply be exhausted, Bhujerba and the rest of the Sky Continent would descend to the surface; these rumors are yet to be proven true.
Point of interest
The people of Bhujerba speak with an accent similar to "Indian English". Many of their terms are actual words from the actual Sanskrit language. The most common word is Bhadra, which is a formal address, not unlike the English use of Sir/Madam or Mr/Ms/Mrs. The dialect is also seen, when approaching the guides of the city, as they will have the title of Parijanah, which fittingly means "guide".
Other Bhujerban words:
Amba - Mother
Bhadra - Good
Hanta - Great!
Kah - Who
Kastam - Alas
Madhu - A wine beverage, is Honey in Sanskrit
Parijanah - Guide
Raksas - Monster
Sainikah - Soldier
Svagatam - Welcome
Rozzaria.
(Sorry couldn't find a picture for this one.)
Built up during the Galtean Alliance like most of the other great powers in Ivalice, Rozarria became one of the greatest Empires in Ivalice, second only to Archadia. However, while Rozarria eventually stopped expanding, Archadia kept on going, taking over smaller nations that got in their way. Unable to ignore such hostile actions, Rozarria eventually declared war on Archadia, and started hostilities that lasted for years to come. The war eventually ended when Archadia invaded Dalmasca, as Rozarria were powerless against the other Empire now that they held one of the most key-strategic positions in Ivalice. However, when Vayne Solidor came into power, hostilities rose again, and a war was about to begin, with Dalmasca as the battle field. However, with Vayne's death, the Rozarrian fleet stopped, and a bloody war with it.
The Port City of Balfonheim

Balfonheim is located at the Southern tip of the continent of Valendia, in the Archadia region. Originally, Balfonhiem was a place full of troublemakers and cutthroats until Reddas came and got rid of the riffraff, making it a haven to pirates of both sea and air.
Mt. Bur-Omisace

For years, the Kiltia have lived here, practicing their faith, and accepting refugees from all over Ivalice, giving them food and shelter. Pilgrims will also make a spiritual trip to the mountain, in hopes of becoming more enlightened. However, in these times of war, the mountain has seen more refugees than pilgrims, and people who have lost their homes now live on the steep slope leading up to the temple.
When the Gran Kiltias Anastasis was murdered by Judge Bergan during an invasion by the Empire to retieve Larsa, his death not only devastated Kiltas and refugees alike, but undid the seal that kept Fafnir at bay, placing all of Mt. Bur-Omnisace in a endless rain. But it took Fafnir's defeat and the sacrifice of a Kiltas named Ieeha, ending the rain, to allow the residents of Mt. Bur-Omisace to begin anew and rebuilt what they lost with the aid of the Viera Ieeha befriended.
Giruvegan
"Ancient city said to lie deep within the Jagd Difohr. A dense mist conceals its actual location. There are some who claim that it holds the secrets of a legendary civilization that flourished before men knew the workings of the world, but none remain who know the truth. Many are the expeditions sent to find this place and record its knowledge, but most have disappeared in the Feywood, or despaired while attempting to understand what artifacts have been found. To this day, we are no closer to discovering Giruvegan, or illuminating its mysteries."
The city does not follow the standards of other cities in Ivalice.
The city consists of a giant pit, at the very bottom of which is the Great Crystal. Around the sides of this pit are platforms, going down the way. These platforms are connected by invisible platforms, that appear only when approached.
The only other way to travel the city is by the many waystones that are all around the city.
Ogir-Yensa Sandsea

The Urutan-Yensa are the only people who live in the Sandsea. A peculiar race, not much is known about them due to their hatred of outsiders. However, they have a hard exo-skeleton, and walk very quickly. They also have a Queen, indicating an insect-like society.
Oil rigs
Built by the Rozarrian Empire, these giant rigs were built to drill oil from the sea. However, because of interference by the Urutan-Yensa, Rozarria abandoned them, and travellers now just use them as walkways to cross the desert.
Phon Coast
Phon Coast is a popular meeting place for hunters of all types, shapes and sizes. A noticeboard for checking Marks is situated in the centre of the camp. A group of unruly Bangaan hunters operate out of one of the docked ships. Rather than Marks, they prefer to hunt the more elusive Rare Game.
