Have any of you all made music videos for Watchmen? I don't know how to do it myself, but I'm sure some of you tech-savvy people do.
As far as music goes, I think it would be fun to discuss songs we think fit particular characters or scenes from the comic/movie.
I think the song "Violet Hill" by Coldplay fits Rorschach pretty well, though not perfectly.

I'd planned on making one, but You Tube keep taking my other vids down! Doubt I'd get away with footage from Watchmen, seeing as how they're being so tight with the releases. gonk Had a song lined up for Comedian, though: 'I Started A Joke' sung by Wallflowers (mainly because I prefer it to Beegees version).
*goes to think of other songs*

I think they should have in included the beginning is the end is the beginning by the smashing pumpkins, the song from the first trailer that was with the dark knight or that one song that they had in the other previews........but, what i think that would've been funny if they had Mr. Sandman playing while a young Moloch did a stupid dance in a G-string and nothing else.

Fits him well...what a disturbing character, that Comedian. In the end, it's hard to know exactly what to think of him.

A song I thought was done well in the movie was 'Unforgettable' by Nat King Cole with the opening scene with the Comedian. First of all, it is the song Adrian uses in his Notalgia range of perfume. But I loved it linked to Comedian. He was the only 'masked adventurer' to be in the original lineup. The song making it to the top of the charts with its original release in the 50's, and again in the 80's.
And if there is anybody out there who wants to know who the 'manhattan transfer' is, they were a cheesy quartet.

~*~ Kinda random, but anyone heard the remake of "Somebody's Watching Me" that's used in the newer Geico commercials? One of the repeated lyrics is "Now tell me who's watching" and it just makes me think of "Who watches the Watchmen" xD ~ my mistress eyes are nothing like the sun

I haven't heard it, but I am going to try to find it. Lately, I have stayed away from commercial television, because much of the music I am listening to on the radio, is somehow simultaneously being used in an advertisement. Gives me the shits. Because when I think of the song, I see the product....AAAARRRGGGHHHHH. Which then makes me think of William Gibsons novel all tomorrows parties, about branding. Whenever I see a Volkswagen Jetta, I think of his novel Spook Country , which means it gets moved up the pile. But I am glad the care triggers a story, rather than a product.

"Windowsill" by Arcade Fire is another good one - I think it applies to many of the character's feelings. (Although of course, it's obvious that it was written as a criticism of post-9/11 America in general, I think the parallels with Watchmen are obvious.)
I Don't wanna hear the noises on TV I Don't want the salesmen coming after me I Don't wanna live in my father's house no more I Don't want it faster, I don't want it free I Don't wanna show you what they done to me I Don't wanna live in my father's house no more I Don't wanna choose black or blue I Don't wanna see what they done to you I Don't wanna live in my father's house no more
Because the tide is high And it's rising still And I don't wanna see it at my windowsill
I Don't wanna give 'em my name and address I Don't wanna see what happens next I Don't wanna live in my father's house no more I Don't wanna live with my father's debt You can't forgive what you can't forget I Don't wanna live in my father's house no more I Don't wanna fight in a holy war I Don't want the salesmen knocking at my door I don't wanna live in America no more
Because the tide is high And it's rising still And I don't wanna see it at my windowsill I don't wanna see it at my windowsill I don't wanna see it at my windowsill I don't wanna see it at my windowsill
MTV, what have you done to me? Save my soul, set me free! Set me free! What have you done to me? I can't breathe! I can't see! World War III, when are you coming for me? Been kicking up sparks, we set the flames free The windows are locked now so what'll it be? A house on fire or a rising sea?
Why is the night so still? Why did I take the pill? Because I don't wanna see it at my windowsill
I Don't wanna see it at my windowsill I Don't wanna see it at my windowsill I Don't wanna see it at my windowsill
Here's a video of the band performing the song if you'd like to watch it; Arcade Fire is THE SHIZ: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbO2Eh_SJj4
