Match Attire / Promo & Backstage Attire
Height: 6'0"
Age: 28
Hometown: The Isle de Gambino
Alignment: Heel
Nick Names: The Heartbreaker, The Patron Saint of Broken Necks, RC Chambers
Gimmick: Roy Chambers has kept the Heartbreaker nickname as a tribute to his father(who passed the nickname down to him). He is a self-important cocky a*****e who knows how good he is and talks about it. A lot. All the same Roy Chambers has won a portion of the crowd over with his policy of never turning down a challenge. Though he may be conceited, he finds comfort in the fact that he can, and will, back up his words. And there are plenty of them. Roy Chambers also has a great head of hair(glossy, silky, raven-black) that is a common object of ridicule among the boys in the locker room.
Biography: A 3rd Generation superstar that trained many years under his father's supervision. His father, Alex Chambers, was an accomplished singles wrestler that taught Roy everything he knew, including how to talk on the microphone. Roy grew to be a mirror image of his father. His grandfather, Pete Chambers, was an exact opposite of Alex. Always a crowd favorite and a well known baby face. He currently resides in a old-folks home with several other Past-Their-Prime wrestlers. Even so, Roy is determined to continue his family's tradition.
For three years, Roy Chambers worked the indy scene, slowly building up a cult following as his unique style of pure wrestling, neckbreakers, and stiff kicks. It was during these years that Roy Chambers also developed a hatred of Hardcore Wrestling. After seeing countless bones crushed by falling off ladders, skin torn to shreds by barbed wire and light tubes, and even losing one of his childhood friends, Adam Ross, in a tag team double-scaffold match. Ross was knocked off the scaffold after the match was over and landed on his neck, breaking it and killing him instantly. Roy has sense adopted the neckbreaker as his speciality as a tribute to Adam Ross.
As Roy Chambers celebrated his third year as a professional wrestler, he got a call from a fellow graduate of the Heartbreak Wrestling Academy, Jeremy Slater, informing him that he was looking for a tag team partner to tour the American independent wrestling circuit , and could think of no one better than Roy Chambers. Roy emphatically accepted, and set off to begin a new chapter of his career in the United States.
Roy Chambers and Jeremy Slater toured the indy scene working several dark matches for various big promotions. Though they never won a single title, they gained valuable experience and got their names out to the general public. Even if the public never bothered to remember them. Roy Chambers? career might have taken off in America, but he reluctantly was forced to return home to the island of Gaia when his grandfather, Peter Chambers, fell violently ill. Peter Chambers died on September nineteenth, 2004.
Chambers resumed working the Gaian indy scene, much to the delight of local Chambers fans. However there was one thing that still eluded Roy that he desperatly wanted more than anyone else: Championship Gold. Roy finally got this opportunity when he was hired by the GEWE, under the name Heartbreaker. For his first match he was pitted against their, at the time, world champion: The Unholy Meatpuppet. After a competitive match that showed the work ethic of both men, the match ended in a disqualification when Heartbreaker attacked The Unholy Meatpuppet with a steel chair. He proceeded to beat the champion down after the match for the sake of making an impact.
At for his first Pay Per View Heartbreaker was put in a number one contender match against Shocker during an inter-promotional Pay Per View. Heartbreaker won the match, earning him the right to go after a Championship Title, something that had stayed firmly out of his grasp through the entirety of his career. However the GEWE went bankrupt shortly thereafter. Roy Chambers, infuriated at his missed opportunity, has vowed never to speak the name of Gaia Extreme Wrestling Entertainment again.
However Roy would not be denied. It was not long before Brianna Rach, a local entrepreneur, bought all the leftover equipment from the GEWE owner Mark McKean. With all the right equipment and several former GEWE talent jobless, Brianna Rach formed the Gambino Wrestling Alliance. Roy Chambers was one of the first stars to jump onboard the GWA. After a show-stealing first match with DoomChyld, a young prospect at the time, Roy Chambers went on to win every single match he was put in for two months. Roy Chambers, still upset that his Title Shot was never honored, was placed in a variation of a cage match called the Gambino Cell with six other men; Hated, Rocker, Sparco, DoomChyld, and The Unholy Meatpuppet, to decide the first ever GWA Prime Time Champion. Roy Chambers after a brutal match that lasted for well over an hour, walked away with his first title belt cradled in his arms.
Roy Chambers defended his belt against all comers. The first defense was against his former apprentice Sparco, who he has had a storied history with. Following his first defense he was faced with a huge challenge. Or rather, three of them. He was to defend his title, along with all the other champions, against three other opponents in a gauntlet. Roy Chambers, while more than a little reluctant to go through with it, participated in all three matches. He defeated his first opponent, Jacob Figgins, rather effortlessly. Then he was faced with a staple of the GWA in Rocker. Before Rocker even made it to the ring he was mercilessly attacked by Hated, who had been feuding with Rocker up to that point. Even so, Rocker demanded to continue with the match, since it was now a level playing field. The match was a well-fought contest, but Roy Chambers still came out on top. Though he had momentum, he was beginning to wear down, which was bad news for him and great news for Tai Nitro Tolium. TNT was the third and final opponent. He and Chambers battled on in the Match of the Night. But in the end TNT was screwed out of the match by The Unholy Meatpuppet, who resented TNT?s hardcore wrestling style. Roy Chambers escaped the night with his title.
The bad blood created between Rocker, Hated, Puppet, and TNT resulted in a Four-Way to decide the number one contender for the Prime Time Title. In the end both Rocker and Hated ended up getting the win over TNT, leading to a triple threat match at the next PPV: Sudden Impact. The Heartbreaker capitalized on Rocker and Hated?s rivalry and let them beat themselves up enough so he could sneak away with a victory. Though many were angry with the way Chambers kept his title, they could not deny that he was a fighting champion.
Chambers entered his fourth month of his title reign with the odds stacked against him. TNT won a match against Puppet at Sudden Impact, thus redeeming himself and working his way back up the card. Now he was gunning for the Prime Time Title. Roy had no problem defending his belt, but TNT was determined not to be denied. So he wanted the match to be on his terms...in a street fight. Roy Chambers, though an outspoken pure wrestler, accepted the terms on the condition that they face in a Pure Wrestling Match the week before the street fight, claiming he would ?Purify him with pain.? TNT accepted the match. But near the end of the Pure Wrestling match, which TNT had been fairing surprisingly well in, Chambers attacked him with a Singapore Cane, ending the match in a disqualification. The mind games had begun. At Perfect Execution the two met in a street fight that would be the most violent match in GWA history. Roy Chambers came out wearing denim jeans, a T-shirt from the Heartbreak Wrestling Academy, and heavily tapped fists. He was prepared for a fight. The two beat each other senseless with brawls, tore their skin open with barbed wire, and even sparked a riot in the crowd similar to the infamous ECW November To Remember PPV. The fans littered the ring with chairs, but Roy and TNT fought on. Chambers eventually won the match by throwing salt in the eyes of TNT and hitting him with a Cardiac Arrest onto the seat of an unfolded chair. Chambers, drenched in blood, was victorious.
The good times would keep on rolling for Roy Chambers, but not so for the GWA, who lost their PPV and TV deals due to legal issues. Some claim the street fight fueled the controversy related to the PPV deal. But Brianna Rach turned a negative into a positive by turning the GWA back into an independent promotion. Roy Chambers came into the main event of the first show, New Beginnings, along with The Unholy Meatpuppet and Tai Nitro Tolium. It was a well-fought match that ended with Puppet getting the win with a pinfall over TNT. At this point rumors had begun to spring up that Steve Twist, a major name in Gaian Wrestling, was close to signing a deal with the GWA. These rumors came to fruition when it was announced that Steve Twist would make his debut on the second Indy show, appropriately title ?A Strange Twist of Fate.? Roy Chambers defended the Prime Time Title against Darkfyre that night, and Twist won his debut match against Sparco. The crowd warmly welcomed Steve Twist to the GWA. However, in a post-match promo, Steve Twist made several comments that caught the ear of Roy Chambers. Chambers cut a retaliation promo, saying that the GWA did not need a savior, because it had Roy Chambers. The two cut several more promos on each other before they were finally schedualed for a tag team dream match between the team of Roy Chambers and Unholy Meatpuppet and the team of Steve Twist and Sparco. But first there was unfinished business to be taken care of...
On the third Indy show(No Regrets, No Remorse) Chambers was booked for a match against his former apprentice, Sparco. The two had a heated match that nearly took both stars out. It got good reviews and is widely believed to be much better than their first contest. But after the match Roy attacked Sparco?s leg, which had been targeted for the majority of the match, until Steve Twist was forced to make the save. On the next show, One Step Closer, a the tag team match took place. Though the team of Steve Twist and Sparco was shaky at best, Roy and Puppet worked surprisingly well together. They isolated Sparco(ala Ricky Morton) and beat down his abdomen, stopping him from making any high-flying maneuvers. Specifically his finisher, the Shooting Star Press. As the match neared it?s end, Sparco got the tag in on Twist. It all went to hell from there. Puppet was nearly knocked out after being dropped on his head earlier in the match, leaving Chambers alone to fight off both Twist and Sparco, which didn?t go so well. The teamwork of Twist and Sparco showed through as they hit the most devestating tag team move in the GWA at that point, when Twist scooped Chambers up for a Package Piledriver and Sparco pushed Chambers down even further with a Double Stomp onto his legs. Sparco picked up a well fought victory, proving that he can beat Chambers.
The stage was set for what many called the greatest match in the history GWA: Roy Chambers vs Steve Twist for the Prime Time Title at the fifth Indy show, properly titled Mutual Reverence. Roy Chambers saw this as his biggest test yet and knew that if he could be the legendary Steve Twist he would have it made. The match went for fifty minutes, with stiff chops and kicks all the way. After reviewing several tapes, Chambers formulated a plan. He knew he couldn?t exchange strikes with Twist, no matter how hard his kicks had become. He also knew Twist was too strong to play the grappling game, so Chambers had to rely on the mean streak that he had shown in the Gambino Cell match and the Street Fight just over a month earlier. Chambers attacked the right leg of Twist, which he had broken in the BTWF. While Steve went for Chambers? neck in a Savior of the Neckbreaker gimmick. The match was long and brutal, but Steve Twist came out on top. Roy?s time as champion was over...
Roy Chambers has been out on injury since that match, but promises that, though his title may be gone, he will prove that he is still the best wrestler in the GWA. But first he must take care of unfinished business...
Entrance Theme: "I am the Warlock" by Probot (featuring Jack Black)
Entrance: The murmuring that fills the air of the building is silenced as a veil of black quickly sweeps over the fans in attendance. There is a pause for a moment of two, but two silence is broken by a blasting, crushing riff that explodes from the speakers, a slow demonic breath can be heard as the guitar lulls for a moment, then breaks back in at deafening force. A spotlight shines on the entrance ramp, displaying the Roy Chambers Broken Heart logo embroidered on the custom curtain. As the Doom Metal rises to full strength, the first ever GWA Grand Champion bursts through the curtain.
I’M GOING TO ******** YOUR LIFE UP
I’M GOING TO CRUSH YOUR SOUL
TWO DEMONS STAND BESIDE ME
AND NOW I’M TAKING CONTROL
I NEVER SLEEP
I GOT A SINISTER PLAN
YOUR WORLD IS WEAK
AND NOW I’M TAKING COMMAND
Chambers is clad in his trademark sunglasses, and garbed in a long, glossy, sleeveless longcoat, decorated with a purple design pattern flowing around the length of the coat. Roy slowly makes his way down the entrance aisle with a cocky smile that seems to reflect his entire demeanor as the arena is bathed in a crimson lighting, the spotlight still following him down the aisle. He pays no attention to the crowd screaming at him from not three feet away, be they fans or just plain assholes. As he reaches the base of the ring, he tilts his head up and slightly spreads his arms, cuing the Maids to remove his coat and shades. As they place it on the time-keeper's table, Roy hops onto the ring apron, looking out into the see of fans. as the Chamber maids climb onto the apron on either side of Roy. They each lie back along the second rope, holding onto the top rope while pushing it up with their leg nearest to the crowd, using the other for balance, allowing Roy room to move comfortable into the ring. Roy ducks under the top rope and enters the ring as the Maids drop to the floor.
BECAUSE I AM THE WARLOCK
HA HA HA! I AM THE WARLOCK
The Heartbreaker walks across the ring to the opposite ropes, standing atop them with one foot on the middle and one on the top. He takes a moment to gaze out upon the crowd before crossing his arms and putting his fists together, extending his index fingers to form the SUPER HORNS!
I’M GOING TO ******** YOUR MIND UP
AND YOU’LL BE WRITHING IN PAIN
STARE DEEP INTO MY SCEPTER
AND NOW YOU’RE GOING INSANE
Roy hops down from the ropes and begins to stretch in preparation for the match as the lights recede and come back up.
