I'm not sure of my ancestors' faith...some of them may have been Wiccan. 3nodding My family has several spellbooks that date back to the late 1830s. I had them sealed (vaccum sealed in a polyurethane plastic lined with natural preservatives) and stored in a safe deposit box almost 5 years ago for safe keeping! 4laugh

its a dying faith really, too much of a bad rep. I myself don't care for it, but i don't judge. you find too many fakers who say they are wiccan and that they are gonna curse you (which from what i hear is against wicca)

Well,I am a ture Wiccan. My profile shows all over my Goddesses and more. And yes,Wicca gets a bad rep,but I dont think its a dying faith. Because of its bad rep many witches hide thier powers. And there is no such thing as a curse in Wicca,just spells to better ourselves and Nature. Wicca is a Nature base religion,Nature and Earth is what we care about.

There are many things about Wicca that you've probably heard that are not ture. I'd be more than happy to clear up any thing any of you had heard of. Like for example, The rumor that Wiccans whorship Satan. That myth is one of the bigest myth. It is SO not true! wiccans do not believe in Satan or that there is any truly evil spirit. If you think of any rumors let me know here and Ill shoot them down. biggrin

Wicca is getting a bad rap but, I usually don't listen to the rumors of all of those things. 3nodding My old friend told me about Wicca and their rules. Though we aren't on speaking terms anymore I don't deem Wiccans evil, because they do like to help people.

Just wondering are Pagans similar in any way. Before I think I mistaken Wicca for Pagan. So very sorry. sweatdrop It seems my memory isn't very good going back a long time ago.

I don't know much about the Wiccan religion. Though I had a friend here on Gaia. That attempted to explain it to me once.

Pagans is mentioned in Wicca history but their not the same. Wicca can be hard to understand but its an eye-opening jouney, believe me.

My people understand wicca as an earth magic that humans who haven't become mages can use, (Check the how did you get into magic topic for more on mages) but what I don't understand is the controversy that seems to have arisen regarding things such as love spells and such, If memory serves, wiccans don't cast love spells or spells to harm, but some idiot at my school keeps "putting curses" on people under the name of wicca

And Wicca isnt really an "Earth" only religion, we honor and call on all of the Elements. And your memorys serves you well, we dont cast "curses". But yes, we do cast love spell, but they're really just spells to open our hearts to our soul-mates, we dont put love spells or any other spells, for that mather, on anybody with out their say, its hurts their spirits and freewill. Something we never cross or break.
