So I'm thinking of getting my left tragus pierced. Unfortunately, due to my helix corkscrew on my right ear, I can't use my Skullcandy headphones (t'hey're the not-earbud ones, that clamp over your ears) because they press right on my piercing. Oops. So I have to use in-ear headphones. And I'm not willing to give up music for a tragus pierce. Which leads me to, Does anyone have a tragus pierced? How much does it interfere with using earbud headphones, both healing, and healed? Is it possible to get them pierced and still use earbud headphones?

She laughed a wicked laugh and said...I have my tragus done. I can't wear earbuds (my ears aren't shaped right to hold them in) so I wear the around-ear muffs. As long as they aren't pressing too hard on your earring, wear what makes you comfortable. Change it to a barbell instead of a ring if that makes it better, but listen to your body. You might want to splurge on the expensive huge around ear kinds, if it comes down to it. "Come here, let me clip your wings"

Umm...for the first like 4 weeks i could not wear the in ear headphones. But after that it was okay, just take care when taking them from your ears.

I've known many people that, after the initial healing of a tragus piercing, they've been able to use earbuds without a problem. It may be a bit uncomfortable at first, but after a while your body gets used to the pressure of the earbuds against the piercing, and will adapt to them.

considering i had my tragus done since i was 14 (im now 20) i never had a problem with earbud headphones. you'll probably have to give it awhile to heal, and make sure the captive hoop is not humongous, which it shouldn't be in the first place

My friend has it done and she's never experienced any problems. At first, I'm sure that using earbuds would not be advisable, but afterwards, when it's healed, I don't see why there should be any problems with them.
