I was wondering how many people here are lifeguards. I just got lifeguard certified and have been applying for summer jobs in California. Hopefully I get one.

I used to be certified cause I did a year of coaching after I graduated high school.

I am, and have been for 4 years. I worked 40+ hours a week this summer life guarding and I don't recommend it to anyone. It's a soul sucking job and sometimes you wanna just jump in a drown... do a job where you can talk to people, not just sit there and bake!
However, because you need a certification, it usually pays very well.
